French Cut or Emerald Cut Eternity Band?

I'm looking for a wedding band to pair with my old mine cut engagement ring.

I would like an eternity band, but want something that's a little bit different. I saw an eternity band made out of french cuts that was gorgeous (similar to the picture below), but couldn't afford it at retail price around $5K. Who makes beautiful (and affordable ~$3k) french cut or emerald cut eternity bands?

What would you pair with my ring?

TIA! :wavey:

I personally would prefer french cuts with an antique cushion diamond. Your e-ring is beautiful!

I'd try Singlestone, Victor Canera, and Steven Kirsch for quotes.

Another vote for French cuts!

Gosh, that is a beautiful set.

I would add Jewels by Erica Grace to the list of jewellers to try. They don't handforge their pieces, but by all accounts they have a very talented bench and have made bands in a similar style previously.

What size are you looking for? The lowest I've seen an all french-cut eternity band was for 4.4k for 1.35 carats total weight. Now, if it was alternating with french cuts and rounds for a lower carat weight it's been around 2.5-2.8k

Beautiful. I'd go with step cuts for the contrast. And because they will more affordable. Ask Steven Kirsch.

Thank you all for the help! I live in NYC, and know that ID Jewelry and Steven Kirsch are here. Anywhere else that you would recommend going?

Also, is there any point in asking for a quote for a french cut eternity, as they all seem like they are above budget (ie: over $3k)? Should I stick to asking about emerald cuts? What would a baguette eternity be like?

doesn't hurt to ask and discuss :-) have you considered a 3/4 set band instead of a full eternity?

I was just in the diamond district looking for a french cut band. This antique store has an AMAZING thin french cut band that will come in under your budget. The women who work there are so friendly and helpful - I highly recommend going by. You can tell them Emma the lawyer referred you :) (and if you get the ring, post photos! I'm sad I cannot afford it)

I contacted Steven Kirsch who suggested, given my budget, that "care cut of emerald cut diamonds" may work. He said that they have a similar shape to emerald cuts, but the facets form a maltese cross in the center. Has anyone heard of these or seen them in person? A google search didn't reveal too much. Thanks!

Ahh, Carre cut! Thank you, this makes more sense. Does anyone know if these come in a more rectangular shape as opposed to square?

All the carre cuts I've seen are square. Are you looking for a skinny emerald stone type of look?

Yes, I tried on a french cut eternity band that looked identical to the one that I posted in my first post. I think I would prefer a skinny emerald cut look.

This is Lauren the Partier's carre cut eternity, and while it's very beautiful, I'm not sure that it would look good with my antique cushion. I think the step cuts clash with the cushion a bit, or maybe it's because I'm looking at these things under magnification. What generally looks good with antique cushions?

I think the first band you posted with your ering is just gorgeous! I would keep looking and checking in that direction!

I agree that the carre cut doesn't do much for me with your e-ring. I honestly would either save for the french cuts or maybe just go with a thin pave band with milgrain, sort of like mine.

Yeah, I'm not loving the carre cuts with your e-ring. I have seen some with emerald cuts but they're over your price range. Maybe try searching for baguette bands and see if that gives you what you're looking for, since those are skinny step cuts. I found this one but its $4K:

I still like the french cuts best. Or what about a band like this from IDJ?

MrsM's ring is similar to yours, except hers has pave on the band, and she has that IDJ band with a pave one below it. Her set is one of my favorites on PS:

Also, maybe something like this would look good with your set. I know Whiteflash makes a similar band and could add milgrain:

This might be pretty with your e-ring too:

If you're still stuck, I might try contacting ID jewelry and see if they have what you're looking for. I've contacted them regarding 2 projects recently and they are very accommodating and their prices are decent (sometimes they are a tad slow at responding though).

This one at Leon Mege is $2,200...I'm sure they would set them right side up if you preferred...LOL! so interesting. 1.5mm so pretty!
