$6300
I always wanted a d, e or f, and this faced up white. What should i do? Do i write up a stipulation that if GIA comes back defective or something for refund? I think they have refund.

Yep, if you're shopping for an antique cut, you probably will find EGL USA certs at the very best. Most are uncerted.iluvdiamonds2|1292794848|2801174 said:It's 1.36 H color, "Transitional" round and not sure of clarity! I didn't even look! shame on me

No Shame!!
Why would you even think to include that stuff, you're not in the business!
Dreamer brings up a good point- many such stones are offered sans GIA - so that's more "acceptable" with an old stone.
My feeling about apprasials is different- I prefer to have the GIA report even if it's not common on old stones.
An appraisal is not worth all that much if you ever decide to sell- the GIA report will be a very good thing to have.
Why don't you ask the seller if they'd be willing to send the stone for a GIA report- maybe offer some sort of deposit( if you're comfortable with them- make sure you can back out of the GIA is not to your liking)

I decided since the jewelry store is a very reputable one in an affluent area and they have been in business and maintain their exc reputation for over 50 years; I will get paperwork if I buy it and forgo the GIA cert. in this case. I am just curious what color it is. I know it's H SI1 (as per the 2 gemologists there). It looks pretty white to me. I love it.
