I''ve been a lurker of this website for some time, but this is my first post.

I''ve taken a liking to Mark Morrell''s designs, and have pretty much settled on his designs for my bride to be.

My question is what are the differences between the Torchiere and Flame designs? I plan on getting the small diamonds nested in the crown.

I''ve searched around for the answers, as well as compared images of the two side-by-side. Unfortunately my untrained eye can''t tell the differences.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don''t know if this will help or if I''m wrong but on quick glance, I think you can see a difference in the band where I''ve circled. The Torchiere seems to taper in. The bands all the way around just look different in general to me

The Flame band looks more like a knife edge? and the Torchiere seems to be rounded all the way around... Also, the prongs? as they go up around the diamond are slightly different. There''s more of a groove in the Torchiere setting... I''ve not seen either one in person so I could not tell you for sure... I''m just basing it on the links you posted!

Hope this helps and I''m not totally off!

Oh yeah, and the top left Flame photo doesn''t have any diamonds...

Torhiere is the ''Flame'' head on a ''Sunburst'' shank.

i.e. the criss-cross woven head on a rounded, tapered shank . The normal Flame shank is all one width and a knife-edge.

Take another look... and see if you can see what I mean.

I'll say the same thing again in another way...

Flame- knife edge band, no taper at head

Torchiere- rounded shank, tapers in at head

Awesome! That answers my question. Thanks all!

Oh, and I can see the difference now. The forest was hidden behind all the trees!
