First time Diamond Buyer, yet another Feedback Request

@949r6 I think many of us can relate to the difficulty of trying to consolidate several information sources into a single cohesive story The problem is that the center of the Venn diagram that results is usually needlessly restrictive!

In the colours you’re looking at - reputably-graded F-H - I don’t think discussion on GIA vs. AGSL colour grading merits another thought.

Read my mind, definitely overly restrictive and need to be more realistic. Just looking to a great quality brilliant stone for the money and believe I cannot go wrong with either of all the stones in BG.

Interesting note on the widening grades as the color grade lowers! From an EGL perspective which is my only basis of what I was able to view a few days ago, which may be irrelevant, I could definitely tell the color difference between a G and H. If the AGS/GIA equivalent of an EGL G is an H, then I'm happy with either H from BG (signature or blue)!

Depending on which EGL lab graded those stones, you could have a one to three or four colour discrepancy compared with a reputably graded AGS/GIA graded stone.

@949r6 I’d put money on a black crystal near the middle of the table close to the table surface being visible up-close IRL on slight tilt of the stone (so the mains aren’t obstructed).

Thank you for that insight. I had reservations because of the crystal in the middle of the table, had it been off to the crown or edge I wouldn't have hesitated, was hoping for a cleaner SI1; I might be going with my first pick, the BGB H VS2.

#3...I'd prefer a stone w/o the "knot" comment on the clarity.

Do knots generally affect the strength/integrity of the diamond and would it be of concern with an AGS SI1 Graded diamond? And based on your experience, would a knot of this clarity grade generally be eye clean? I realize this is a loaded question, but my assumption (could be wrong) would be that if it made it to BG's Signature line, the stone would be of a higher quality AGS SI1 and not be of concern.

The details mention that the BG diamond is eye clean.. so I don't think it would be an issue....

Ended up going with the BG Signature 1.045 G SI1. Will post some photos when I receive it at the end of the month, thanks everyone for your insight!
