First time buyer

Greetings all! I am buying an engagement ring and was wondering if I could have your opinions on this loose diamond. Plugging the dimensions into the HCA and it received an excellent score, but I just want to make sure this isn't misleading as far as one can tell from the report. Vendor is asking 13.5k. Please let me know what you think - really appreciate any time and consideration!

Thank you very much, Garry. I have requested a pic from the vendor and I will post here if available. I was also looking at something like:

I have the other one on hold; this one just caught my eye while I wait for everything to come together. The vendor is asking 14.3k for that one. Going by the reports alone, are you able to tell me if I am at good price points for the characteristics of these diamonds? The second one does not perform as well in the HCA (although I know the HCA is not meant to replace pics through the various scopes).

Stick with the first stone. The pavilion angle on the second stone is high. It also cost more??? So not sure why that would
interest you more than the first one.

Get an idealscope on the first one. The vendor price is very fair.

Edit ...I see the second one is slightly bigger than the first. I would still stick with the first. If you are still interested in the
second, request an idealscope image to check on leakage.

Hi there!

Those are hearts and arrows images, not an ASET. An ASET or an Idealscope image will give you/us information on the diamond's light performance. Hearts and arrows images give info on precision cutting. It's not a hearts and arrows diamond, but that doesn't mean it won't have a nice ASET or IS. Any way to get the performance images??

My mistake, JD - I guess I'm living up to the rough rock tag! The vendor classified these as "ASET-type" which is a little irksome if they are not! Let me see if I can get anything on the performance...

Lol, no worries, the same thing happened to me and I was so confused.

If you can get an IS or ASET, then we'll be happy to help you interpret them.
