3.11 ct GIA graded Fancy Grey set in a rose gold and Tahitian Mother of Pearl pin/pendant setting. I love that the changing fire of the diamond plays with the changing iridescence of the pearl.

Thanks! When I was brainstorming I saw some pieces that incorporated MoP and thought they looked stunning. It was surprisingly hard to find a fine jewelry artist that worked in MoP! I’m glad I put in the effort though. My local jeweler found it a challenge to set due to the MoP but finally found a way to do it safely.phew. Not a common or easy material to work with it seems.

Thanks! I think I started scoping out stones in February. Got the diamond in March 2020 days before the covid shut downs happened. Found a jeweler in Hawaii to work with MoP. Waited for it to ship to me. Then had to wait for my local jeweler to open shop to set it. So just about 8 months. Longest project to date! But I do think it’s been worthy the wait!

Yeah I like bolder pieces, especially now that it’s sweater season and delicate pendants just get lost in my fluffy layers! This will definitely hold it’s own.

Yup me too! When I work in the hospital I have to wear my ID lanyard so long necklaces are out. But I can pin it!

Yah! I love that since it’s a pin I can pin to a wide band and wear it as a bracelet too. Even a hair band works in a pinch!
