Oh, it finally arrived and i'm in loooooooooove!!!!
For YEARS i've wanted a sapphire/diamond 3-stone ring in white gold...something about the combo is so elegant and fits with my wardrobe....definitely a square or rectangle cushion. So, recently I decided to bite the bullet. While at first I thought I wanted a light/medium blue sapphire, after looking at photos and LOTS of different stones, I decided a medium dark, velvety (what I describe as "chewy") blue was what spoke to me. I also wanted a band that was a bit more substantial - like my ering. I debated for a bit whether a halo would work for me, but I'm not very good about being SUPER careful and i'd always be afraid of knocking one of the stones out.
I LOVE how the shank "flows" into the width of the diamond traps and allows the sapphire to take center stage!! When I first saw the finished ring a week ago all I could say was "wow" for about 5 minutes...literally, I was speechless....and just grinning like an idiot, i was so happy with the result!
I think the only thing MAYBE I should have insisted more on were small double-prongs/scalloped prongs. But a friend of mine pointed out that I love linear, more simple designs and and thought double prongs were a bit 'extra'. I hope you enjoyed looking, and thanks so much for all the info on here that made me a much more informed buyer!
I have lots of pics:
