So I will start off by saying that I love me a big, bold look. I have let a few diamond emerald bands get away and have been hoping to come upon one that is big but also, a bargain. Enter this one. At first glance, it fits all my desires for size and sparkle and I am fine with the color.

Now, what is bugging me? The prongs—is this supposed to be a part of the design? Almost like a decorative border?
But then I also noticed they are placed in the middle of the baguette and not in the corners. Finally, the baguettes vary in size. I think I could live with these issues if the band is structurally sound. But if it is set like an invisible set diamond ring, will these stones fall out? Become loose? Is that what explains one major gap right now?

Sorry for the long post.

Nala, you know I am far from an expert but since nobody else has chimed in….

I have come across some bands like this over the years and I think the prongs are that way to be part of the aesthetic. I also couldn’t imagine prongs in all of the corners of each diamond, that would be a lot. Structurally they should be fine, just make sure none of them wiggle around. It’s a pretty band, all of this is just my opinion of course.

Hope to see more of it!

Thanks for chiming in! At the time that I posted this, I didn’t have access to a jeweler but I have since consulted him and he gave it the ok! It’s hard to tell, be he shaved down the prongs and adjusted the gap that was bugging me. Here she is!
