feedback needed for a couple diamonds

I would appreciate some opinions about a couple diamonds I''m looking at on exceldiamonds.com. Barry has been very helpful and says that they are both eye clean and excellent light performers.

Anyone see any red flags on either of these? Do the prices seem good? Any others I should be considering?


The diamond will be going in a fairly wide setting: white gold with baguettes down the center and small rounds on each side. I tried to take a picture, but none turned out. With a wide setting, do you guys think these will be too small?

Hi walkin,

I am inclined to go with the 1.21. The other has clouds as a grade maker, coupled with the comment of "additional clouds not shown". On an SI2, that could hinder performance some. I like everything about the second one, plus it's a bit larger. That will help with your setting.

As for if the setting is too wide, are you wanting the diamond to really stand out/pop? And exactly how wide is the band?

I also prefer the second, ditto being careful with grade making clouds in SI2, although you can check with Judah or Barry whether these have a negative effect on the diamond.

I was able to get a picture to turn out ok. I''m trying to attach in, hopefully this works. The ring is about 9mm at the widest point. Will a 1.2 carat diamond be ok?

Well, any roundyou pick is going to be not as wide as the setting. If you have doubts, why don''t you go with a thinner setting? Thick settings are not very popular right now.

My friend has an almost identical setting and she has a 1.68 in hers and it looks perfect.
