AGS cert is inside, paperwork, nice box BUT NO RING!

Agghhhhh -- you''re killing me here!!!

No, it is not a joke, the nice wooden box is empty.

OMG, I''m so sorry, Stephan! What happened? Have you contacted JA yet?

I''ve contacted JA and FedEx.
They will contact me back.

Should I also contact the police?

It can''t hurt to call them and tell them what happened and that you''ve contacted JA and FedEX. They may want you to fill out a report or they may just tell you to wait until you hear back from JA.

Did the box look like it had been tampered with?

ACK!!!!

I hope there is a simple explanation

OMgosh...

I hope there is an explanation to all this. I''m getting paranoid lately with all the postal mess up

NO.............

The FedEx box was not broken.
FedEx told me on the phone that it is impossible to open a box without breaking it.
SO WHAT HAPPENED?

I'm thinking somehow the ring just wasn't put in (by accident).... Cuz they're right, you would know if it had been tampered with.

What a shocker it must have been for you...! I hope they can get to the bottom of this before someone gets sued for the emotional trauma caused..

I would probably first be angry, then break into tears. I hope you get everything sorted out.

Please keep us posted, it will be ok Stephan.

Whoa! I feel a little sick.

I hope this gets cleared up, pronto! and yes, I'd call the police.
Time may be of the essence to apprehend the thief.

What happens if it comes down to your word vs. JA's?
How very awkward!

My thoughts are with you.

I have considered having FedEx hold the package at their location and opening it in the presence of their counter-person for this very reason.
At least there would be an independent person who could testify the package was empty.
Another alternative is videotaping yourself opening the package.
At least it is something.

Jim Schultz told me to keep the package, what I will do of course.
I really hope this money isn''t lost.
It is a lot of money for me.
Right now, I feel very bad.
When the driver gave me the package, I gave him my credit card so he could take the VAT (21% + duties).
I hope they won''t take that money too.
I feel sick.

The package is insured Stephan? As a suggestion I would contact your CC company ASAP and make them aware of the situation, I don't see why you should have to pay duties on an item which you did not receive. Did you pay with a CC?

Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but maybe not.
I'd check eBay for the ring.
The thief may be dumb enough to list it.

Jim told me it is insured.
I was hoping so hard that they forgot to put it in the box.

He didn''t take the certificate.

Ok thats good, so you are covered anyway which is the most important thing.

Well, we are not dealing with the brightest light in the chandelier.

I''m not sure if this is plausible but what if a Fedex employee tore off the old package, took out the ring and put the box into another package? Nothing would look tampered then. In any case, do not throw the packaging.

so.... THe package was intact , you opened it, there was a cert, a box and no ring... and they confirmed that the ring was in the box?
wow... What happened? Ugh........ It's sooooo sickening! I am thinking the same thing as the poster above....

OOPS!

Exactly what Jim told me.
I really hope Jim can identify his package from another.

I suspect this is what happened.
I hope the guy/gal left fingerprints on the box or its contents.
I'd not handle them any more for this reason.
Not taking the report means the guy/gal probably plans to recut it.

I wonder if JA uses their real name and address as the sender or some stealth name.
The real name would give it away as jewelry.

Stephan I am so sorry about all this.....Especially after what you have been through recently, it will be ok though.
