The lost diamond was special because of:
- its lower depth
- its excellent HCA score
- its longer star facets that made the upper girdle angle higher than the lower girdle angle

But we will find something else!

I rushed back from lunch hoping for good news. I am so sorry that the very special diamond (it is special; I saw the thread on its stats!) is still lost. But I am happy to hear that, true to form, PS''ers are rallying around you Stephan and that JA is doing what they can to make it right.

Still, I''m crossing my fingers that it shows up somehow. But if it doesn''t, you have some great stone-searchers on your side here, and the universe will provide another stone with lovely long lower girdles.

It''s sad to know somebody is going to have to pay for this while some crook walks free (for now). It''s sad to know you are going to have to start the search again.

It sounds like more of a flaw in the FedEx/Customs process than it is with anybody else. It''s wonderful to know that it was insured. Pricescope is full of wonderful people, and I just trust everything will be OK.

My first reaction: I was afraid!

After that, when it was certain that there was no ring in the box and that JamesAllen.com didn''t forget to put it in the box, I was sad but I didn''t manage to cry. Just think I''m stupid if you want, but when I was sure it was stolen, I remembered my mother who died much too young in 2004 (as I always do when I feel alone) and I asked myself why did I survive the operation.

Now I am angry. Very angry.
Can you imagine choose a diamond for a pig who probably doesn''t know anything about diamonds?
FedEx should pay for this!

I know the insurance will pay, but I hope FedEx will agree that the ring was stolen, so they pay me back VAT and duties.

I pray for that the investigations will tell us more.

It's not good for anything! lol My mom passed from Pancreatic Cancer and it is truly awful!
I am sure you something will come your way that will blow your socks off, even if its not the original one
i know its easier said that done, but try your hardest to not be angry, focus on what is next

Sorry Amethyste, I didn''t want to hurt you or to remind you bad memories, but that''s what I truly wish to this person.
My mother died from the same thing when she was 55.
She did fight 9 month but finally died on Belgian Mothers Day (May 9th 2004).

FedEx has a paper waybill that gets placed into a clear plastic sleeve that is glued to the box.

You could just remove the waybill from one box and place it into the plastic sleeve of a new box.

This may be true or it may not be. Many of us vendors print out a lable and stick it directly to the box just to prevent this type of "mishap".

Stephan, I am so very sorry to hear of this! I know this past few months have not been easy for you and my prayers and thoughts have been with you. I will continue to wish only wellness and good things for you.
