Hi, there. I checked out a GIA stone with certificate dated year 2003, G color/SI1, 1.01 carat, average of 6.4m diameter, depth: 62%, inclusion: feathers and needles
Price: $4300

Questions:
- do stones with feathers drive down price and worth of the diamond?
- Is 62% depth a little deep for the stone
- Should I be concern with the older date on GIA certificate because it means stone is old?
- Is price reasonable?

Thanks

You have not provided enough information about this stone to determine if the price is reasonable.

62% is not too deep if all the other numbers are good but it is getting up there.

2003 GIA report could mean it was turned in on an upgrade. Neither good nor bad although the older reports do not include as much information as the newer ones (crown and pavilion angles and cut grade).

Ditto Swing, if you could find out the rest of the info such as the crown and pavilion angles ( the vendor might need to run a Sarin on the diamond with older reports) then we can go from there.
