Fake Diamonds

Anyone here use and like a particular brand of diamond tester over another?


What do you think of this one which ALSO tests to see if it''s a simulant like Moissanite:

Another question: Is a simulant like Moissanite only passed off as a diamond in the ''cut and polished'' state? or do you have to worry about it when buying ROUGH?


Also, when buying ROUGH, what other types of mineral/crystals/stones can look like ''diamond'' rough?

Also, if you're not comfortable being able to separate polished Moissanite from diamond WITHOUT anything other than a loupe, you really shouldn't even be thinking about getting involved in whatever it is I think you are thinking about being involved in, before you get a lot more experience and education!

Otherwise, your first stop is likely to be the cleaners!!

Diamond expert is spot on in his comments.
This is especially true if you considering buying rough from sources outside the formal rough diamond industry.
The scam artists have some mean tricks to fool even the best diamond testers; you just cannot replace knowledge and experience with gadgets.

even seen it yet and - to be very honest, I`m not sure if it exists.
