Hello my b/f and I have been e ring shopping lately. I have a PS vendor in mind that I want him to work with. I'm just trying to see if my ideals can be made under his budget. Originally we were looking in the 10-14k range but being that we're 25/26 just bought a house and have already been together 5 years we can't wait to save that much money. So I've been spoiled looking at bigger rings. his father mentioned he spent 1k on his wife's ring and his mother used to work at a mall jewelers so now they think I'm nutso 
So an upgrade can happen down the road as he just began a promising career. My most ideal would be a RB 1.5-1.75 carat triple excellent Gia F vs1.
Anyways I've guided him, we're going to shoot for a .9-.99 GIA triple excellent D-G vs1-vs2. Vatche 6prong setting in platinum size 6. What can he expect to pay for this after a little negotiation? I'm definitely a quality kind of girl who loves research and he doesnt know much advanced detail about diamonds nor has the time to learn. We were shown okay looking 4,500 ring and he loved that price but I think he would go 6,500 tops and probably write a check out right now if it was 5ish. If I have to wait on the setting that's fine too. Is this possible?
