Need some help in deciding on the stone in platinum setting with pave setting.

The stone i ordered but didnt look at proportions is 1.03ct triple Ex GIA G VVS1, no fluorescence. Proportions are not of an ideal cut. It has a table 59, depth 60.8, crown 32* and pavilion 41.6*. When checking with HCA it gives a score of 4: Very Good. Good. Good and Very Good for its 4 parameters.

I went back to get another stone. The best one within my budget is G VS1 1.11Ct triple excellent GIA BUT with faint fluorescence. However this stone has better proportions: table 57, depth 62.2, crown 35* and pavilion 41*, HCA score is 2,4.

I am totally lost and confused what is more important: clarity, no fluorescence and premium cut or perfect cut with faint fluorescence with slightly more inclusions???

Faint fluorescence is looked at as a discount in D to G colours, will it affect the value of the ring?

The ring is by the way from a high end brand.

Or should i ignore both stones and look for another one?

Thank you for your advice!

Is this stone for you, or someone else? We would generally say that the most important consideration is the cut quality. You should be looking for an HCA score of 2 or under, so even your second choice doesn't fulfill that. What is your budget? Have you looked at the online retailers for comparison stones? FWIW I don't think faint fluorescence is a huge issue.

Thank you for your reply! Much appreciated!
The ring is for me. I am exchanging the ring my partner presented me with. Didnt like the design:) I thought because of the brand name, all i should consider was colour and clarity. Because they didnt have the ring available in store, i had to ordered one. So i picked a stone within my budget with G VVS1. Then went home and started reading. Out of all the stones available there within my budget I had to compromise on clarity from VVS1 to VS1 to get HCA 2.4 (the best). As you can guess, I am a first time buyer:) maybe i am over complicating things...
My ring will arrive on Tuesday and i need to either keep it or pick another stone. From what i ve seen so far, this is the best G VS1 HCA 2.4 but has fluorescence.
On another note, should i just check HCA score or also use this calculator for a cut? https://enchanteddiamonds.com/cut-score-calculator
THANK YOU!

I was a first time buyer just a few weeks ago, but now I've learned tons thanks to this forum and its members.

I'd say that CUT should be prioritized over ALL of the other Cs. You should be fine going down to a VS1 if you can get a diamond with better cut. Use the HCA calculator as it was intended - a way to screen out poorly cut diamonds. If you can get the vendor to provide you a few that score below 2, then you can start filtering base on the other Cs.

Second what Lore has said.

Faint fluorescence is a none issue....more importantly I'd be focused on the cut. I wouldn't want a stone with those parameters especially when buying a name brand. I'd recommend asking for other stone and looking for one that falls within the following criteria:
Table: 55-58
Depth: 60-62.3
Crown angle: 34-35 (maybe 35.5 with a 40.6 PA)
Pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9 (maybe 41 with a 33.5/34 CA)

Your second diamond is much better cut than the first one, so I would suggest to wait for the ring to come and see it in person. In my opinion, the proportions of the VS1 stone are just fine, and fine fluorescence in most of the cases is also OK. But the best judge is the human eye. Observe your new stone for its sparkle and transparency. If you see something that bothers you, take pictures and comment here again.

Guys, thank you for your comments and recommendations. Will update if this brand adds me to their black list:)
