Engagement Ring Upgrade ... Version 2.0

After much deliberation, I finally decided to upgrade my center stone but honored my original ring by keeping the same tapered baguette setting. I’ve always been in love with my setting but desired slightly more finger coverage and different proportions for the side baguettes. My original stone faced up around 7 mm and the baguettes had an elongated and narrow shape. I chose a 1.57 carat 60/60 diamond which faces up larger than its respective carat weight. The side stones are a better matched pair compared to those in my original setting and have a chunkier appearance relative to the larger stone.

It was a risky move as I had not seen the diamond in person but I knew I liked the super icy white and bright appearance of these stones as my original engagement ring also had close to 60 60 proportions. The upgrade stone scores a 1.4 on HCA.

Below are the stats and a few pics I snapped although today was rather gloomy! The diamond does not disappoint IRL and I’m very pleased with the end result.

Congrats. Very nice rock and love the setting too. So classic and elegant!

Gorgeous! It looks very large on your beautiful hand!

Well how lovely, the proportion of the side stones to the center is quite pleasing to the eye, and I do love a good 3 stone! Congratulations on your upgrade - may it be joyfully worn for years to come.

Thank you, MissGotRocks! The center stone is H VS1 and the baguettes are H-I color and VS2 in clarity. I wanted the 3 stones matched for color so there wasn’t a discernible contrast between them. I do see slightly more warmth in the center stone as compared to my original 1.3 ct round but I anticipated this and the brightness of the stone more than compensates!

Beautiful new diamond and ring! A round with side baguettes is one of my favorites!

I second that those proportions are just lovely in relation to each other and the band on your hand. Beautifully done.

I love a round with baguette sides and yours is bright and beautiful!
Congratulations on your upgrade, it looks beautiful on you!

Beautiful! The proportions are perfect & the style really suits your hand!

It's lovely! Congrats on your upgrade!

Wow! This is a gorgeous set. I love tapered baguette settings and your diamond really looks lovely in this setting. I love the way the band looks with it, too. Very, very nice!
