Engagement Ring Success!

So after discussions in this thread I went ahead and got the engagement ring from James Allen. It arrived and I was really happy with the diamond although the setting was subtly different and having imported it into the UK I couldn't afford to send it back through customs... I was initially disappointed but actually grew to prefer the setting which I got.

On Monday I proposed to my wonderful girlfriend of 5 years and she said yes! Amusingly because the setting is a little different she thought it was a ring we hadn't looked at and in fact loved it even more!

I love that setting. I noticed it for the first time a few weeks ago. The photo of it on the website isn''t good at all so I''d always passed over and dismissed it until I saw it on someone''s finger. It''s really such a beautiful setting.

I just looked at the JA picture and I must say the ring does have differences in person but IMHO completely smashes the other one out of the water the setting and diamond are beautiful , I am glad your now FI loves it even more .

I have attached one of the pictures from the settings page and have put it below a side view of my ring to show the difference. As some of you have pointed out, my ring looks like it has hearts around the side which I think is better than the setting I thought I was getting.
