Hi diamondhoarder :wavey:

I have a very similar diamond. Here's my thread about the ASET: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/aset-photo-of-emerald-im-considering-step-cut-lovers-help.177801/

Please have a look at mine, I think the one you've chosen will perform like my diamond. I absolutely love mine! Never a moment of regret on the purchase! I set mine E-W to emphasize the asschery-ness of the diamond, but it's really an EC. Since buying my diamond I've spent way too much on other jewelry and have often considered upgrading my EC but I just can't do it! I love these squatty EC's.

Here's the thread of mine set: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ec-in-sholdt-semi-bezel-pearlmans-pics.180994/

Much better pic's in the second thread. As long as there's a return policy available I see no reason not to buy it.
Go for it!

Hi Woofmama. Thanks for your input. I love your EC and would never guess from the photos that its a K. Yours has a great size look to it, and I love the proportions. Does yours have a steep or shallow crown? The one I am considering may have a flattish crown and I wonder how much it will impact the performance of the diamond.

It is eye clean so could be good value. I love the look of the facet pattern and how bright it seems in the photos. I'm hoping that Im not compromising on fire because of the flatter crown. I cant forget about the J color EC with similar proportions I found in October though (as that had amazing fire) so I'm getting them both to compare side by side. I'll post pics and may need some help with the deliberations when I have them both in my hands :)

It has good potential. Do you have a profile view of the EC?

Thanks for the compliments on my diamond. I never had the crown height measured but I believe it to be average, not overly steep or shallow. When I bought mine I didn't even think to ask about that as I was very much a newbie & it was my first diamond purchase after joining PS. Ignorance can be bliss, had I been more seasoned I may have passed on my stone due to the color, which is a total non-issue, or some measurement. I'm so glad I didn't over analyze because I am very happy with it. That said, if you are interested in knowing the crown height can the seller provide it?

Here's a great thread about CH started by Chrono: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/lets-discuss-crown-heights-role-in-step-cuts.185152/

Hope this helps

Thanks Woofmama. I enjoyed reading this thread. Its amazing how these small nuances seem to make such a difference to the look of a diamond. I now have my two ECs in my hands to compare side by side, along with their ASET images and profile shots of their crowns. I've got loads of pics and and going to post them in a separate thread.
