Hi everyone - I found pricescope some time ago and have been a longtime lurker and really enjoyed seeing pictures of everyone's rings, learning so much about diamonds, and figuring out what I like - this forum was a great help! I just got my own diamond a few days ago and wanted to give back by posting some pictures :)

The stone is 2.09 cts and the ring is a size 5.

:love::love: Sooo so pretty!! Please add it to the asscher and emerald thread too...

Whoever picked it out did a very nice job.

What a perfect emerald cut!

It's beautiful!!! Would love more pics and agree with ILS about the stats!

Beautiful!! Congratulations!! Yes!! STATS!!! STATS!!! STATS!!!!!:love:
Welcome to the step-cut club!!! :mrgreen2:

Woo hoo. That's one hot ring. Stats! Stats! And who did your setting!?!?

Very lovely – simple and stunning! I love the fire!

Absolutely beautiful!! Need many more pictures!

Mmmm really really nice! Having just returned for my second look I feel duty bound to comment! The stone just looks so gorgeous, looks stunning on your hand!

Ahhh thank you everyone!!

Stats are:
2.09 ct.
DIF
Ratio is 1.38
Depth 67.5%
Table 62%

No Sarin report or ASET :( I am dying to see after reading through this forum! Bf thinks I am nuts.

I was asked what cut I liked and what setting (I sent him this video
)
and then told to leave everything else up to him. He went to a private jeweler and picked the stone himself. The setting was made by the goldsmith the jeweler always works with and he didn't get his name

Those were the only pictures I had lol. Here are two more from this morning.20170927_080553.jpg

HI:

WOW! Hit the jackpot.........

cheers--Sharon

:appl::appl::appl: D IF!! No wonder it’s icy white but just much cleaner. Congratulations on a stunning ring!

Great fire shots!

2ct+ D IF?

Very nice!

The cut looks to be good too, so your other half did well :)

Stunning, simple elegance!

No Sarin report or ASET

The Sarin approximates what the ASET shows directly - the ASET could stand alone, I believe.

Yet ... I'd say that it misses the point for many beautiful diamonds. Without defining a standard 'Ideal' as is done for rounds, those tools are not better than the eye ... Emerald cuts have not been bracketed like that ... so reading ASETs is as much an exercise in connoseurship as poring over varieties of diamonds (& step cut diamonds are very varied ! Extremes: WWW , WWW etc.).

2c

Of course, I am very biased ! I love step cuts & that one setting has seemed perfect for them since its Art of Platinum put it on the market.

____
Footnote: yours is the second AoP emerald cut diamond to turn up here lately - two spectacular stones of very different character ! (the other thread WWW).

Pure perfection!

thank you everyone!! =)2

@valeria101 : hehe i was wanting to see the report because i'm a little obsessed and want to know everything about the diamond but you're right, it looks great to my (newbie) eyes so maybe not much more point in it ;)2

@OoohShiny : yes :o bf told me jeweler told him that he was paying for something he couldn't see - and i can stop worrying that he was steered by someone trying to make a bigger sale!

Not many diamonds would dissapoint someone who has never seen any diamonds at all ! IHMO, this says allot about how beautiful the material is, than about the 'newbie' state .-)

i finally got some flashes of color in a picture!! turns out driving home after work is the magic lighting for this  i did not edit except to crop them in size.

I think this has to be one of my favourite emerald cuts ever. The diamond is perfect, the cut is perfect & the setting is clean & lets the diamond speak for itself, of which I am a huge fan of. As much as I adore various settings, with a perfect stone the setting should be minimal, but this is just my personal preference.

Can we see some profile pictures? Also, what wedding band are you thinking of getting? Exciting times!

An absolutely glorious ring - congratulations! (albeit a little late!)

Thank you guys!!!! Took some pics of the profile and band as requested @Alex T :D
I was thinking a plain band but fiance wanted something more exciting for himself - and wanted mine to match. So I ended up with this one which has tiny diamonds on it - I think .3 tcw - and he has the same, just without diamonds.
