Okay. The order is all done - we are just waiting for it to clear and for Pebble to be Fedexed to us!

I am dying of excitement.

Only possible sticking point is size, but my partner assures me that if I don't like the way it looks in proportion to my finger, we'll send it back. Hope I don't have to though - feel quite attached to it already!

On another note - I'll have more to say about this after the stone arrives of course, but I wanted to put a good word in for Dan Gillen at ERD, since I haven't seen him mentioned here previously. His credentials are flawless on paper, but more importantly he was incredibly patient, fantastic with communication (we would usually receive an email before our bedtime - so 6am NY time - and several to-and-fro emails at the end of his working day during our morning), and filtered through a whole heap of stones for us. Despite not having the photo set-up of some of the other vendors, he took photos with two different cameras at multiple angles and kept sending us pictures to try and give us the best idea of how the stone looked in standard lighting. Considering our purchase was relatively small, I really appreciated it.

Can''t wait to hear what you think of it when you get it! Congrats on the purchase!

Congratulations!! I am sure you will love it when you see it!

I am really stun of all the great information that is available on this forum. In the other hand what a great topic. I see my self in the same situation. I just started my endeavor of finding a good EC gem for my girlfriend. I see that I have much to learn and pretty quick. My girlfriend has given me a couple of hints about wanting an EC gem but she got a sample of EC and setting from Bluenile. I have purchase items from online retailers before but I am really nervous about buying a diamond ring from an online vendor. I have visited the local B&M jewelers like Gordon, Mayors, and Zales but the prices are extremely expensive. I believe out of all the B&M majors had the best gems. Any suggestion?

Thanks for the response Dreamer. I realize that just know. I figure since the topic was dead on what I am looking I figure people involve in the thread will give me some suggestion. I will definitely start a new thread. Thanks again for the welcoming.

Well...I have tried on quite a few (including the Canturi Cubism, which is

but SOOOOOO bling!) and keep coming back to my original idea, which is also the most boring, lol. I just want a plain, slightly squared 2.5 or 3mm band, no reverse taper towards the stone, probably in some kind of a lowish cathedral setting so that I can wear a WB flush. I''d like the prongs to be as unobtrusive as possible - haven''t decided between claw or ribbon yet, depeds how small they can make it.

This is my favourite setting of those I''ve seen: http://www.hollowaydiamonds.com.au/engagement-rings/elegance/ - the one on the far right.

I did also like a setting that had very small horizontal baguettes channel set in the shank, but I might leave that for the WB.

IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE!!!

Gypsy, you were right - it knocked our socks off! It is absolutely STUNNING! I knew it would be beautiful but it has totally exceeded my expectations and my partner is jumpy with excitement too :)

It is icy white, really bright, the patterns are gorgeous in all lighting conditions (no bad angles!) and it glitters more than any of the ECs we've seen in our ring-making process so far. It shoots off big flashes of fire with tilting and tiny twinkles off the crown - my partner can't believe how sparkly it is!

I have some terrible quality photos which I'll post later, but for now the Pebble is staying Chez Garry (at Holloway Diamonds) - we have an appointment with HD tomorrow to discuss ring designs.

Meanwhile, I have let my partner know that when eternity ring time comes, there'll be some Canturi Cubism action

(AND - he seemed to give his assent!)
