what is putting me off is the price seems alittle bit more expensive in comparison with comparable diamonds on other sites? I understand the 0.66 is an IF and I would imagine that would increase the price a lot?
I don't know how much more of a price you're seeing, but keep in mind 2 things: well cut stones do tend to cost a bit more, and add to the fact that GOG are offering you a pretty high level of service.
The 0.66ct, indeed, has great spread!
Do you have a preference?
Wow, and a quick glance on JamesAllen indicates the 0.66 is right on par, price wise. I don't know where you're looking.
I actually don’t have a preference. I think they are both lovely. Do you prefer the 0.66ct one more? If so why?
Would you say they are nicer than the JA ones listed at the start of the thread?
It might be worth checking out http://gemconcepts.net/ if you're looking for a specific cut style - Yoram may be able to cut you something to your exact preference!![]()
The great thing about @diagem / Yoram of gemconcepts is that he and his team are highly skilled cutters who have cut many PSer's diamonds - he and his team are (AFAIK) the only people cutting the Octavia diamond, which was brought to the market after being developed by @Karl_K of this board (who started as just a plain old forum member) and then cut by Yoram.Hi Ooohshiny, thanks for that but Im not particularly looking for a custom cut diamond. I really don't know enough about them to go down that route. I just would like a great EC diamond for my budget.
Ratatat, the setting I'm after is something as close as I can get to:

I agree, the .66 is the best of the three. Second choice would be the first .7fvs1 (not the middle one in the video).
Yes, I agree too!
Ooohshiny, those diamonds look lovely. Ive kind of got my heart set on going with GOG and one those ECs that they are looking out for me. Its more the look I'm preferring (and hopefully my other half) right now.
GOG has called in two more as attached. The 0.66ct that was I liked previously is included also on the far right of the video and included below.

Whats your thoughts on these, my own feelings are the 0.66ct still is the better of the 3. But please give your honest opinions on them all.
My budget is approx $3500 and the setting is coming in around $1100. The stones listed up are coming in at the $2100 mark approx. Am I going to see a noticeable improvement going to $2400 do you think?
Me too!For what it's worth, I also prefer the 0.66![]()
My understanding is that it is easier (and less risky) getting the setting shipped to the holder of the diamond, but you should ask GOG the question to see what they say
Custom design is always a bit of a leap of faith, I reckon, as they always seem to turn out less 'chunky' than the renders (from what I've seen) because (as I understand it) they are designed and cast them slightly more material than necessary, so that the edges can be polished off while still retaining the desired end result.
Have a search for 'custom' or 'CAD' on the forum and you should have some threads with walk-throughs of the process come up![]()
So I looked through past posting on Pricescope and the following were recommended as close to the Cartier you like. I like these a bit better because the bottom of the basket does not prevent a flush wedding band.
My advise is not to get overly focused on a particular setting. It can lead you down a long, more expensive custom road. Think about what element of the setting you really love. Remember to consider that she may want a flush or nearly flush wedding band, so that low basket may be an issue.
