Emerald cut..GIA cert only

Thanks @Matthews1127 I always appreciate your contribution. I went and saw the diamond again today before it is sent off for setting just to be sure. I was able to put it in a temp setting which really changed everything (not sure why they didn't do this to start with). It just appeared so much nicer and gave me a way better idea of how it would look face down in a setting and not sitting on my skin. Here are some bonus pictures. The sun was out today so I took it outside in diffused natural lighting and it looked breathtaking. Also attached, my favourite ring on Pricescope ever!! Ericas Graces Gin setting which was always my inspiration for my intended setting, also attached.

Setting for emerald

Stunning!! I can’t wait to see it set and on your finger!!! ♥️

The ring arrived today. She is a beauty. There is no windowing from face down (I put bright red fabric behind the ring) but there is some tilt windowing. Also got the matching plain band. The prongs look prominent in the photos but cannot see them in real life. Very cold in Australia today hence the dry hands.

Natural diamond: 2.02 I VVS2

Beautiful set!! The yellow gold really shows off the center, and gives the warm tone a buttery flavor!!
If you can, share videos! I’d love to see it in motion!
Congratulations! Wear them in great health! :kiss2:

Oh my word, that is a STUNNING setting! Your ring is just gorgeous. I never liked bezels - always been more of a halo or solitaire girl; and would usually plumb for WG over YG… and somehow this set has my heart beating in double time!! You’re making me change my mind on bezels and YG and honestly now I waaaaaannnnttttt itttttttt!!! Absolutely adore it. What a stunner of a ring. My tongue is hanging out and everything!!

Hello All

Please and thank you for any replies.
I will be viewing an emerald cut ring on Sunday. Diamond is already set and I have no video.
So going off numbers only would you consider this diamond on paper?

I have read I think every thread on here regarding emerald cuts and have screen shot important points and numbers.
Table is under 66% one thing I screen shot that @Karl_K wrote he preferred :)

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I have attached the GIA for the 1.5ct that I am viewing on Sunday (interesting the GIA number is hidden and stone was cut in 2020)? This is from a smaller boutique jeweller in Australia.

Also attached a photo of the setting with a 2ct diamond

Thank you

Though it looks like a bezel setting it appears to be secured with prongs, in which case it will be possible to remove the stone for inspection and verification. Especially with a stone that may have been previously worn for a few years, you want to make sure it is in original condition. It would therefore be advisable to condition the purchase on the jeweler sending it back to GIA for an update. Even if you have to pay for the new cert, it will be worthwhile. Especially if you ever think you may want to sell or trade the stone in the future.
