Emerald cut certified by EGL-USA

Honestly, it is very, very difficult to pick emeralds by these videos... I was hoping woofmama's ASET request from JA had come in by now, so that we can get a larger sample to correlate ASETs to videos.

I would let their Customer Service know that you are looking for a Pricescope-worthy emerald, and it has to be at least.... I don't know, 5.25mm average side. And that you only want the ASET for it if it looks good.

If that doesn't work, I would ask Jon at Good Old Gold to pick you an emerald that he thinks is worthy of a lifetime guarantee.

here are three i asked for asets resently, feel free to get any that are still available! :twirl:

I http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.73-carat-I-color-VS2-clarity-sku-199141

"is a lovely white I, with a lively and even light performance. This is a definite emerald shape with a gorgeous brilliance. This diamond is eye clean.

F http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.76-carat-f-color-if-clarity-sku-165571

"is a crisp, white, true F. The light performance is breathtaking and even, and it has the most clearly defined brilliance and fire."

G http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.78-carat-G-color-SI1-clarity-sku-189262

" is a true G color. The light performance is amazing and well-spread. This diamond has profound brilliance and fire, and a more Asscher-like appearance. With a keen eye, the feather might be visible in certain positions."

thanks, nielseel. I've noticed that G. I wonder if the band on the right short side ever shows up, or if it shows up on only 3 sides. That would drive me bonkers if it didn't. OP, maybe something to inquire with JA about?

Julie I'm hoping for my ASET's tomorrow. I'll post them as soon as I get them. That would an excellent tool to compare the videos to an Aset. Look what neilseel has 8)

Very cool neilseel! I just opened all of these. The I is sold but the F and G are still available. I know by the numbers the F has a larger table and less depth than desired which is why I didn't recommend it but the stone does look beautiful. I like it the most.

EC experts which would you pick of these and why?

Personally I still like that f if I inquired about. I just couldn't pull the trigger when compared to my spready pear...

I know the table is a bit bg but still. An IF.

I see we posted at the same time. Right. By the numbers that f shouldn't be all that good bit I don't know, I'm no Gypsy or chrono. But I think it looks good.. I asked the m specifically to comment on fire due to the shallow crown but they said it had the most of the three.

The G for me because it has more red and it is spread right across the large facet side. The patterning looks incredibly crisp as well. How's the inclusion?

they say to a "keen eye its visible at some angles. I would imagine its about as visible as in the vid

I had JA run ASETs on my top 3 and they are in. The first diamond I picked is a .80 H VVS1. Woofmama had advised against pursuing it, but I did really like all the dimensions and the price was perfect for my budget, so I thought "why not". The second diamond is the 1.01 J VS2. The third is 0.93 I VS1. Gemologist recommendation: "After reviewing the images, I am sure that you will agree with me when I say that the 0.80 carat-H-VVS1 (diamond 156533) is the best looking of the three." After looking at the ASETs, and following the gemologists recommendation, I'm looking at selecting the .80 H VVS1, but I wanted to see what anyone else's thoughts might be.

do you have the links to them??

i know the aset has all that red but the video of that emerald cut i just cant get over. Seems like it just has so much obstruction, but i dont know. Im not the emerald expert though, hopefully chrono will see this in a bitty.... I still kind if like the F and G i posted. because of the size Id pick the J. Every bit counts in terms of ctw getting up to 1ct, and i know ladies like to be able to say they are wearing a 1ct ring. I would, however, because its a j...ask them to make the setting in unplated (without rhodium to plate the ring in really really really white metal) 18k wg to match the warmer stone. OR, a different color gold.

The H is fine. There is no obstruction problem, IMO, for several reasons.

I also like the G that Niel posted the ASET for very much, the windmills seem lively, but it is a little bit smaller. I would probably ask JA to compare the H you picked and the G.
