Effects of Chlorine on Platinum

Just proposed and I was curious what the effects chlorine has on a platinum setting.

I worked at a YMCA in aquatics for several years. i wore my rings all the time, in the pool, hot tub etc.. and nothing ever happed to the platinum...

I swim everyday in the morning and don''t take my plat. ring off and no damage yet to report..(2 years of swimming)

Nothing in a swimming pool would have an effect on platinum or gold. The alloys found in gold sometimes suffer from pool chemicals, but the gold itself is never compromised. If the alloys are bothered by pool chemicals, then the jewelry can become brittle and discolored. I think the alloys used in platinum jewelry would not be bothered by chlorine at all.
