I've looked at every I, J, & K on JA's site, and I called and talked with the, about one diamond.... I studied the 3.01 Grace has... And 1st Dibs... I've been studying them all... But by all means... Please keep sending me ideas! I had a PSer contact me today about one she has that is unset...

IFthis is the one.. I would think I would want them to be close.. maybe J.. or K. Do you have suggestions? David said it faces up whiter than the 1.59 K so I will have a better idea after I see it....

I really like that setting for your EC! This stone is gorgeous, but I know you're still "on the hunt". I think you're on the right track about getting side stones in a color that matches (or compliments) your center stone, and since smaller stones sometimes face up whiter, you may find that the side stones will look better w/ a little lower color.

I think you're doing the right thing though, first focus on getting the "perfect" center stone and then work with the vendor to choose the most complimentary side stones. Once you're able to see pics and vids of the stones placed next to one another, you'll be able to choose the right ones fairly easily!

I know this is going to sound crazy... But I'm not comfortable going too much bigger. It's a personal thing I guess. I think of my ering (1.30) as being huge in the halo. My goal was to be big enough to see the steps. I like that this one is also wider... All that said I know I need to see it live.... I could get DH's same reaction... Where he thought the last one was small...

I think part of my reservation is "life". A step son in college(out of state at Auburn), a step daughter who will be a senior in HS next year... And my DD who is almost 15 and will need a car all too soon.... It becomes hard for me to mentally justify more than what I can sell to cover. I'm sure it sounds silly to be looking at diamonds while weighing these things...

Oh Mayk! I totally understand what you are saying! I love that you and your husband are on board together to find you a beautiful stone. I am not a step cut expert, but this diamond is quite "easy on the eye", :love:

I guess I must be the only one who has reservations about this EC. The dark band across the center never seems to light up, staying dark in contrast to the rest of the diamond. I would also prefer if David made the stone move left to right slowly, rather than up and down so that I can see if the steps "walk" across the EC. This, to me, would be a very good test to see if the EC performs.

I agree with Chrono on this. Just watched the video and the black band bothered me. I like the overall shape but think the perfomance might be lacking. The steps should light up if moved slowly, that is what my stone does and I find it to be part of the quiet beauty of an EC. Can he do another video?
 
It's been an emotional week.. to watch PS... and I've tried to lay low, but the end of my week just hit a very high note...

I'm more than excited and I decided I had to share...there are some people on here who have been wonderful to me in my search.. and while I'm not feeling great... it's time to rub the black eye off David's work or put his pants out from the fire that was lit... because not all rings turn out badly, I would hazzard a guess most turn out fabulously... and by first glance I think this one is going to exceed my expectations.. I have been very anxious this week and went through rethinking every decision I had made... I'm feeling much better right now.. There are couple people out there who have been really supportive.. THANK YOU!!! :love:

A couple of notes about the pictures.. David had less than 10 minutes to shoot them before he had to put it in the box so I would receive it tomorrow.. he said he didn't like the light box picture...but would send it to me anyway.

The hand shot.. just blew me away... I'm very excited... very... I think the color is going to be just fine for me...

Wow, I love how perfectly matched the sidestones are! I had always wanted an EC as an e-ring but my bf doesn't like ECs and we had to get round. If I did ever get an EC, I want it to look like yours.

Ya know, I just never liked that shape of those side stone (traps?) until just now.

Proportions? Color? Workmanship? Design? I don't know, I'm too green.
