I really like the ratio.. I've studied a bunch... and I'm learning one thing.. my eye likes 1.25 much better than 1.50... not sure why...

I do like the color. David actually said next to the 1.59 this one actually faces up whiter. I loved the 1.59.

I will need to see it live but more pictures and videos first before that....

I also now know that ASET is only one of the tools used to judge light return, and that it must be seen and "tested" in person before a final decision can be made. Actually 8mm has been my minimum target... The 1.59 was 7.56 mm. I won't really be able to tell until I'm holding it. I'm very interested in more pictures. This diamond is very eye appealing for me. I've also been studying a couple other stones this week. A number of them on JA's site. JA also has a K IF but it's 7.65 mm so I think it's about like the 1.59 in size but I did find it eye appealing.

I know this is going to sound crazy... But I'm not comfortable going too much bigger. It's a personal thing I guess. I think of my ering (1.30) as being huge in the halo. My goal was to be big enough to see the steps. I like that this one is also wider... All that said I know I need to see it live.... I could get DH's same reaction... Where he thought the last one was small...

I think part of my reservation is "life". A step son in college(out of state at Auburn), a step daughter who will be a senior in HS next year... And my DD who is almost 15 and will need a car all too soon.... It becomes hard for me to mentally justify more than what I can sell to cover. I'm sure it sounds silly to be looking at diamonds while weighing these things...

I just like the idea of focussing all the jewelery resources to get the biggest rock you can, since you loved such a large one!

And I think hubster will still say its small, half a millimeter is not very big in any scenerio other than diamonds! But compared to DIAMONDS its big.

The red, blue and green are in stripes running around the diamond- at places where the facet turns a corner, there are contrasting colors. As I tilt the diamond, the colors change.
It's quite cool.

About the photo- I know there was an instructional video- I was hoping someone might post a link to it, or give me some tips on how to get better aset photos.

Yes, I think we'll need a better ASET pic since that one doesn't look too good! I don't know where the instuctions are, though. I think some vendors have a special set up to get the good photos.

IFthis is the one.. I would think I would want them to be close.. maybe J.. or K. Do you have suggestions? David said it faces up whiter than the 1.59 K so I will have a better idea after I see it....
