Ebay case or Paypal ?

Hey guys, sorry if this has been hashed over before, but what would the best way to contest an ebay sale be? Open a case via ebay? Dispute it through paypal?

It's still too early to know if any of it will be necessary since I only reached out to the seller yesterday, but basically I bought something advertised as "like new" and it clearly isn't, so I'm hoping to return it since the item was listed with a 14 day return policy and I sent the seller a message the day I got the package. But it's been 24 hours with no answer, and naturally I'm already planning for the worse...

Any advice is appreciated!

Send it back to them Delivery Confirmation. Open an ebay case. Not paypal. Paypal is useless.

Don't send it back yet. Open a "not as described" case through EBay. They will likely instruct you to return it. EBay protects their buyers, so you should be okay. I hope that it workout for you!

Yeah I'm hoping not to have to go through any of that but it's nice to have a back up plan in place.
