Earring upgrade: need new setting?

I’m planning to upgrade my 1.5 Ctw earrings to 2 ctw (so each earring will go from .75 ct to 1ct). Do I need new settings?

I upgraded a few years ago from 1ctw to 1.5 ctw and needed different settings then. It never occurred to me before then that the new stones wouldn’t fit.

Perhaps it varies by the specific setting?

I searched the forums and didn’t see anything. Would appreciate any info!

When I was ready to upgrade my earrings with Whiteflash, I asked how much bigger I could go without needing new settings. I was told that I would need new settings no matter how much bigger I went.
