Earring jacket question

I just received these emerald (lab) studs and they are 7mm. My jackets are for 6mm stones. I realize the emeralds stick out a bit too far but do you think either could be damaged by wearing them together? These won't be worn together that often either. Both jackets and stud settings are 14k. Thanks for any advice you have!!

@Gussie They‘re beautiful! I don’t think they would damage each other if worn occasionally. The rocking back and forth could possibly scratch each other because the emeralds aren’t seated all the way in the jackets. I had the same problem with my smaller studs. They wouldn’t seat inside the jackets because they were a smidge too big. I had David reset the studs with a thin bezel. They are still a little big for the jackets but fit a little more into the jackets. I would just make sure the posts are long enough so you don’t lose them. David made my posts longer so they feel secure. I really think they would be fine especially since they are the same metal. The color is gorgeous!

Thanks @MamaBee! They are a very pretty color. Thankfully David made the posts pretty long so they are fine with the jackets. I definitely won't be napping in them though!

Color is gorgeous @Gussie . Agree with @MamaBee ...since they are not everyday wear any scratching of the diamonds on the emerald basket
should be minimal. I would probably wear them for a day then take a look to see how much "scratching" has been done (if any).

I wouldn't think it would be a problem. Lab emeralds are so gorgeous! That's why it's hard to buy natural ones since they'd be exorbitantly priced to have the same quality!

Beautiful! I feel they're fine for occassional use. if the plan is to wear them this way often, I'd get bigger jackets.

@Gussie I am so happy you like them! When I saw the photos of the studs and jackets, I tried to figure out if these were those stones, so thank you for clearing up the mystery. They look beautiful with the jackets! Wear them in good health.
