E-Ring Critique and Help

Well, I have a .56 hpd that shows larger-- I really feel like it comps to a .70 size diamond (my original ER was .75). The .56 feels nearly as large.

I would go with the.80 I and if you feel it is too small, trade up when stock is replenished. I feel like that .80 will feel larger than its weight.

Of course, the WF diamond is sure to be a knock out as well.

Re:
I always sacrifice clarity first. Unless it's full of clouds most people aren't going to see inclusions. The J color will be fine in a good setting. And it's over 1 carat. An HP diamond will be beautiful

Argh. I meant GOLD setting, not good setting.

I am actually really starting to love the HPD 0.8 one now with all your guys help giving me confidence that this will be a great diamond! Plus I really like their trade up program just like the scenario @rockysalamander laid out that I could even trade up in a month or two if desired. Going to have a call with HPD to discuss that diamond further :) Thanks guys, I'll keep ya posted!

Make sure it is on hold...EEK. Finger's crossed for you.

Also, you want HPD to set the diamond in your setting. Discuss mailing your setting to them. If anything happens during setting to the diamond, which is a time of risk to a diamond, you want the diamond vendor to hold that liability. I would not allow anyone else to touch my super-ideal than the vendor who sold it (or one of a few trusted custom jewelers). HPD can also adjust the prongs to be pointy if you like that look. I do, but its personal choice.

These are more tab-prongs.

These are claw prongs (I prefer these).

Oh and I think there is a more recent ad where she is selling it for 4K and shows idealscope.

The setting is beautiful! I think Noam Carver has some very unique settings. I wish they had some nice ones in 6-prong styles. Have you seen the setting in person? Are you planning to buy the setting and have the diamond set locally? Just curious for no reason =)

Got the diamond on hold for the time being. Haven’t had a chance to have a phone call with HPD to discuss further due to the Christmas season now. Scheduled a phone call for after Christmas . I’ll definitely discuss with her about the setting of the diamond and how to make that work! Thanks for the suggestions on the prongs, but I like the rounded better with this setting

They definitely do have unique settings! I wasn’t a huge fan of the setting that the GF found when I first looked at it in pictures, but it is actually gorgeous in person!

Haven’t decided yet the logistics on how I’ll set the diamond, but I do like the recommendation to get HPD to set it themselves!

They can also make you a setting that is similar, with your custom input (as in "inspired by")

For sure going to discuss that with them to see what they have to offer and what is possible! :) Would much rather do it as a one stop shop then mailing back and forth etc!

Had the phone call to discuss further with the HPD 0.80 diamond that I have on hold. They sent me a video of the diamond today. Let me know what you think! Looks great to me!

We also discussed the setting and they have a custom one somewhat similar to the Noam Carver setting, they called it the Marchesa. Here is a video of the setting they did. I mentioned that I don’t like the pave band and they would remove that and the cathedral as well. So they are quoting me on that design and I’ll see what the estimate comes in at. And a sketch of the design.

Just waiting now to see what they come up with!
