Dumb question but...

I am really not sure! On a knife edge setting...can the knife ''crease'' if you will start to smooth/flatten out over time and with lots of wear? Or does it retain the sharp knife edge indefinitely? Thanks for the help!

Platinum and gold are actually fairly "soft" metals.
Yes, the edge can both flatten over time- and also show damage if you hit it.

How long it takes depends on how rough one is on their jewelry.
