Hi everyone!
I finally found a stone! Now the next decision...setting...
looking at round with tapered baguettes-classic... I think :)
Tried on at HW and Cartier...can''t decide between double prongs or single?
What do the experts think? Which makes the stone appear it''s biggest?
THANKS!!!!!

It depends on the size of the diamond. I wouldn''t put double prongs on anything less than 2 ct.

Dear pickydiamondlover

My advise is as follows. Fist of all it is an absolute personal taste.

My personal taste is with a stone smaller the 1.50crts a single prong setting will do just fine. On larger stones double prongs a perfect as they are more secure for a larger stone.

Hoe this helps a bit.

I vote single too.

Thanks everyone and double thanks to D&T for your double vote :)
The stone is over 2.5.
Do you think it could be secured in a very small single prong as in just one of those doubles? I''m starting to think not.
Thanks again!
I have trouble with personal preference... and trouble with decisions in general until I make one after doing A LOT of research and questioning, so I really appreciate your help!

Over 2.5cts? LUCKY Lady. Total personal preference and I am by NO means an expert but my vote for that size stone would be (without question) double prongs. Love the simple classic tapered baguette settings. GREAT choice!

Thank you thank you-I am lucky-I''ll believe it when I have it!!! haha...yea in fact it''s 3 !!! I compromised on color and clarity but not too much, to get the big look I always wanted.
sounds like a lot of you prefer the double...I just don''t want to see too much metal covering up the stone...some say the double almost allow for more light to come through too...could just be a selling point...I don''t know.
