I have seen the double 4 prongs on some large stones, and looked so nice and modern. For stones over 2c, do you recommend the double 4 prongs or 6 prongs for security?

here is url to diamondtalk forum to see a picture of the setting with double 4-prongs, it looks nice, and stone looks round not square as the regular 4 prongs. What do you think?

If you look closely at a 6 prong mounting, the prongs are usually thinner than the 4 prong mounting.

Although the 6 prong has 2 more prongs, the prongs are easier to bend because of the thickness.

IMHO a 4 or 6 prong is a cosmetic difference, with little strength difference. It is more difficult to lose a diamond from a setting than the average consumer thinks.
