This is my OMC In a solitaire setting. It has become my travel ring as a solitaire but I don't care for the look on my right hand. I was thinking about adding a ring guard with color. What do you all think?image_3714.jpg
Or doesn't fit as it is but it can be fixed.

It looks like it doesnt fit that stone. The stone is too big (what a great problem to have).

yes, the stone is too big now, but the wrap can be modified to fit my stone.

Personally I do not like the look Nala. The guard does not fit the stone and the look is very eigthties... in a dated way.
If it makes your heart sing though, I would go for it!

Looks like a nice 5 stone ring with the guard if the guard can accommodate the center stone

Yes, but if sized correctly, it will be pretty.
Hey, I was married in the late 80's when this look came into popularity. Lots of us love the looks from the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, why not the 80s and 90s?

Gorgeous solitaire, by the way, why not punch it up with some rubies?!

When you have it correctly sized for the centre stone it will give you the fantastic look of a 5 stone ring when your in the mood want to switch it up a bit

Well, if you're already changing the ring, I'd turn the Marquises east-west and leave off the other diamonds. That would be pretty IMO.

This is why I'm torn! I love the punch it adds but for some reason, I fear the 80's look! Why is that, I wonder? Because you make a great point, about how we appreciate all of the other vintage jewelry.

I like it. But iIf you want to do something more unusual and "vintage" but still use that ring guard, remount the OEC into a custom fishtail head with the triple prongs and put the ring guard on it. My e-ring was 5.9mm RB in an illusion head and I used that same style of ruby & diamond ring guard with it. That was 1997, before there were any "vintage" reproduction settings, and the only platinum you could buy was really Plain Jane and utilitarian. People grabbed my hand to see that ring wherever I went, because it looked both antique and unique. (But it was all Stuller stock findings and a ring guard from the mall. haha)

eta: I said custom fishtail head, because there is only one low-mount one that I know of that's available as a stock finding. It's blah, imo. A custom would be more elegant and can be very artistic.

A little late on the update. But I went ahead and bought the ring guard a while ago. image_4103.jpg
since then, I reset my stone into a pendant but find myself missing the ring. But I have too many rhr's which I why I set it into a pendant. What to do. Am debating resetting stone back into ring.

The ring guard looks nice with the diamond in the ring setting. It's pretty! I am sure the stone looks great as a pendant too. Tough decision...hmmm.

I think high quality ring enhancers will make a comeback - it's awesome to be able to switch things up without the full-time commitment. That said - I'm sure you're enjoying your pendant. Do yo have a solitaire at all anymore then to use in the ring guard?

I had a diamond ring guard similar to this one that I used as a wedding band, I used it about 6 or 7 years (I didnt wear it everyday) the marquis diamonds tore the heck out of my solitaire setting, I had to have the head on my engagement ring replaced several times, the marquis stones were rubbing into the prongs, I finally got a new band and sold the the ring guard.

I love my ring guard! It is 1/4ct each trillion diamond on the 1 ct pear solitaire diamond. One jeweler would NOT make it for me he said it would not look good. Hah! Been looking good to me for five years now! It gives me wearing options. No regrets...and I love the 80's ....love the gemstone guard. For the price...I love to look at
Donna T's website. Have not bought one yet...yet.

The ring guard is fabulous! Maybe it’s 80’s for you in the US, but it’s quite new for me in Europe.
The center stone is surely also perfect fit for a pendant!!
Just buy some simulant in the same size for your empty setting and enjoy your ring guard.
