Does pave band eat at prongs?

I am considering the Blue Nile Riviera 1/2 pave band. Does it eat at prongs and require a spacer, similar to a shared prong setting? I usually buy platinum, but I'm curious if it matters much if I go platinum versus white gold since you do not see that much metal. Would love thoughts on that. Finally, I'm curious if this band is strong enough to hold up in daily life. Is it common for this kind of band to lose diamonds? If that happened, would Blue Nile be able to replace the diamonds? Tagging @Kaycee2018 because I think you might have this band. Thank you!!

And here is a link to the ring:

Hi there. I do have this band in full eternity 1/2ctw in platinum. I purchased mine pre-loved a couple years ago and wear it almost daily. It is very comfortable and smooth. Since it is very low profile, it fits well with my solitaire and doesn’t eat the prongs, but you would need to try it with your e-ring to see how it fits. BN has a great return policy, so you can always return it. I haven’t had any issues with losing diamonds and the diamonds are very sparkly. I am super pleased with the ring. I’d recommend going with platinum because the platinum options comes with better graded diamonds (H VS2 vs I SI2 with the gold option). HTH

That is very helpful Kaycee - thank you! I had not noticed the difference in the diamonds in platinum versus white gold, so I really appreciate that you pointed that out.

Hi, @OdetteOdile!! :wavey:This band is super popular here...i did a search once and there are lots of PSers that love it. It looks super low and so beautiful!! I've considered buying it myself in the past. I would totally give it a try, and return if it didnt work. :)

Hi @meesmom :wavey: I'm glad to know you like the band too - I admire your taste! I really like Blue Nile's return policy. I think I will probably give it a try. Normally I love a bead set band, but this one looks very appealing.

Aww thanks!! The feeling is mutual. It does seem that we have very similar taste. i ADORE your dbty bracelet, and have added it to my own wish list (someday...=))!!
What i love about the riveria band:
1) Its low
2) It has a bit of metal showing, for contrast.
3) Its slim.
And i totally agree on the platinum, i think the darker metal will make the diamonds pop!!

Haha! I'm glad you agree we have similar taste. I am still thinking about your lapis egg. I even pulled up a picture of it the other night and showed my kids. They loved it too. Lapis has been on my mind lately. My kids love stones, and they each have a specimen piece of lapis. It really is gorgeous.

About the riviere band - it is stunning. I have the sapphire riviere on my wish list. You are a lucky lady to have a CVB wedding set!

ive seen diamond girdles of pave diamond bands chiseling away at metal prongs, over time. that's why those that prefer to stack a pave band(s) against an engagement ring or similarly pronged rings, wear thin spacers. as long

as the girdle of diamonds come into contact with metal that "chiseling" effect takes place. especially, on the hand

hope that helps

oh boy - I just realized I got mixed up with your response! I read this response from you as Riviere because I know you have the Riviere band. The names are so similar!

Thank you for your reply! This is certainly a concern for me. I would not be wearing a spacer with this band, and I do not want it to damage prongs on ER.

Oh no, i meant the blue nile one in my response. The name is similar, i might have spelled it wrong, lol. It actually does have a lot of the same qualities that i love about the cvb riviere, tho. I dont know if you looked here for any pics but this thread
has a great profile pic of the ring.
Looks pretty smooth to me.

I love lapis too, esp. when it has those little gold flecks!! :kiss2:
My daughter loves my egg too, shes always admiring it in my jewelry box, lol. Unfortunately, it doesnt get worn much, i need to find a thinner chain for it. But its my most interesting piece of jewelry by far. Tiffany really needs to start making the egg again, its rediculous that they completely stopped!:x2

If they start making an egg again, I might need to be twinsies with you!
