I saw a pair of earrings on sale while browsing on the Signed Pieces website. I really liked them. They were called, "Happy Diamond Earrings". I had considered saving up next for a pair of Alex Sepkus orchard earrings that I have kept my eye on for years, but when I saw these earrings on sale, I wondered if they might not be a comparable buy. Then I happened to see a ring (not on sale) by Chopard also with the appellation "Happy Diamond"; it was called a "Happy Diamond Ring" and was on another part of the Signed Pieces website. The funny thing is that if one does a search for "Chopard" one does not find the sale earrings! Isn't that strange?

This is one photo of the "Happy Diamond Ring".

This, also, is a photograph of the Chopard "Happy Diamond Ring" in 18K yellow gold with diamonds that are described as being E-F in color and IF in clarity. (No one has volunteered a certificate to my knowledge!) They total .35 carat total weight. Signed Pieces is asking $1,795.00. There isn't much there in terms of diamonds for that, but I paid in that ballpark for each of my miniscule Sheldon Speyer mini-mania bands which have even less substance since they have less metal! One is, after all, paying for the design of this ring!

These are the "Happy Diamond Earrings". They are on sale for $2,975.00.

I have a necklace that isn''t Choppard brand but is the same idea as that range. It''s the reason I love it so much (couldn''t afford the brand name!) but wanted the same design. It''s a pear with 3 jingly diamonds and I got it from Angus & Coote for about $AU800. Try them if you want earings like that but maybe cheaper.

I am trying to post a reasonable size photo of the Alex Sepkus tsavorite orchard earrings.

I don''t know, Deb. I think I like the Alex Sepkus earrings more.

I love that idea, HotPozzum! I am not sure if Angus & Coote is a department store or a jewelry store or a jewelry designer! Is this someplace where I could get Chopard-like earrings although I live in the States?

Hi Deb,
I have a Happy Diamond Ring. I think Chopard calls all of their pieces with diamonds that move around Happy Diamonds. It is a well made piece and I haven''t had any trouble with it. I really love alex sepkus too - esp. his yellow gold.

Uh oh!! I''ve liked those for a long time, DS!!!

That is a very lovely ring, iluvcarats! But what do you mean by, "diamonds that move around"?

Deb

The diamonds in the center underneath the sapphire crystal move around. Mine only has one.

Me too. Sorry, Deb.

Yup. All the Chopard floaty diamonds are called "Happy Diamonds". I have a bunch in my watch. They are very cool - they spin and move around as you move the watch.

I''ve always admired the Happy Diamonds line. They all look like so much fun.
But Deb, I like both earrings. Sorry, I know that''s no help to you.

I had no idea the diamonds moved around!!! Thank goodness for Pricescope! I am smiling silently (but broadly) (as opposed to laughing outload), thinking of how amazed I would have been had I bought a Happy Diamond Ring or Happy Diamond Earrings on-line and seen moving diamonds for the first time when I opened my new purchase! Thank you for the information and the photograph. (Great watch, Blu!)

These should come out small, small enough so that one can actually see them clearly! Oh! And they are $2,400.00.

I think they are beautiful. I have the swirling water ring in rose gold, and it is so beautifully made. Really delicate but sturdy at the same time. AS is amazing, and definitely an original. Are you going to get them Deb?

Deb, even though I am a relatively recent convert to platinum (and a few wg things) and want to collect a few more pieces of that (it is better with my coloring), I LOVE a lot of that high carat gold jewelry you have posted! Your bracelets are gorgeous, and I was soooo impressed when I saw that Gurhan collection at the jeweler who went out of business last summer! The Alex Sepkus earrings or other handmade pieces would go better with your existing collection, I would think.

So iluvcarats, this is the ring that you have...only yours is in rose gold? It seems you have one of everything! A Chopard! A Sepkus! Perhaps we could arrange for me simply to borrow some of your jewelry? I have some primitive pieces if you would like to work out a little trade for some evenings out! My designer pieces tend to be more Yossi Harari and Gurhan except for some ancient Georg Jensen I inherited from my mother and perhaps a piece or two I picked up in my wanderings.

Thank you for remembering that I have high karat, hammered, gold pieces, DS. It is kind of you to keep track of what jewelry I own! The turth is that I have loved yellow gold all my life and been very conservative in my taste until recently. (This flight into high karat gold seems to have been some sort of mid-life crisis! I was always so refined, someone who wore pearls and delicate, yellow gold pieces!)

At any rate, my point was that I own plenty of pieces of polished yellow gold-most of it delicate-that would "match" the Chopard pieces if I did want to buy them. Attached is a picture of my engagement ring. I hope that it is clear enough to see. I fear that I was not working from a very good photograph and my editing software is not up to par!

Haha! Not one of everything yet..., but I am working on it!
I have this Alex Sepkus. It is rose gold with natural colored diamonds.
I would love a piece of his yellow gold too....someday...
I also love Yossi Harari. His Sara pendant in blue/green is at the top of my list.
I also want a piece of Stephen Webster some day.
Have you ever looked at Talisman Unlimited?
They have some really nice pieces in hammered gold. I have a pair of tourmaline earrings and a necklace that I love from them.
I will try to post a pic later if you want to see. The sight is extensive and a bit hard to navigate, and really doesn't do the jewelry justice, but is worth a look.
You are welcome to look through my treasure trove any time.
I love Georg Jensen as well. I love finding older Jensen cufflinks for DH.
The Chopard Happy pieces are fun. I would pick a ring or necklace though, because then you can play with the diamonds while you are wearing it. It is fun to watch them move around and spin.
jrdunn.com carries a lot of Chopard.

I do not wear it regularly because I had it resized when I lost weight (and then resized again, etcetera) and I am not sure whether it will fit! It is also a very delicate ring with a look that is, in my opinion, more appropriate for a girl or a young woman. Perhaps if I become thin again I will feel comfortable in it! Thank you for the compliment on it.

Your ering is lovely! I love high karat gold pieces - such a rich look [and so much easier to work with]!

Thanks, Blu :-). The engagemnt ring is not that high karat! You would be very comfortable with it given your heritage; it is 18K since it was purchased in Genova when my fidanzato took me home to meet his genitori. We found it in an expensive giolleria on the Via XX Settembre.

All''ora, cosa facciamo con sti orecchini [o l''annello]?

You gave me pause with this, iluvcarats, but I think I am going to go with earrings after all! I did call about the Alex Sepkus earrings. (They are 5/8" long.) I would like to watch the diamonds in a ring move around. But I was very taken with some of the Chopard earrings...both one pair of gold and diamond earrings, the picture of which I have been unable to post here, and another pair I saw on an auction site in emeralds that I thought I would like to have made up in rubies.... I don't have the money, but if I am going to spend any money, I may as well get what I love. Right? (I am asking enablers, so what kind of answer do I expect here?)

I saw these Chopard Happy Diamond Earrings on an auction site. (The auction is still going on if anyone is interested in it.) I thought that I would really like these earrings in rubies if they were within my price range. I am waiting to see what the price on them would be.

Oh, those are gorgeous, Deb! I have not seen them with colored stones!

That''s great that you have other gold jewelry that would work with the Chopard earrings. I actually do, too. In fact, most of my jewelry is classic yellow gold...bangle, locket, earrings, orifginal wedding set, pearls, etc. It took me a long time to even consider white metals, but for better or worse, I think the white metals look better on me. Thankfully I have a daughter with sort of dark strawberry blond hair, so all my yg will eventually go to her! I guess my Asian daughter can wear either! That does not stop me from looking at the beautiful gold pieces, though!

Definitely get what you love! The ruby earrings sound gorgeous too. You can probably hear the diamonds moving around in the earrings. That''s pretty cool. This is all very exciting - please keep us posted!
