I never thought I was a necklace stacker...lol but I might just try it someday again. I picked up this new square box pendant from my local jeweler but didn't want to take off my bezel pendant, so I left it on... there is a very small diamond, in the box but can't really see since its a little blurry from my camera phone.

So any other ladies here stack there necklaces? can I see yours? Thanks

hmm. I usually can upload the pictures directly.. but this time its attached? aw well.

Oooh, good question and you have such beautiful necklaces  I am SOOOOOO loving yellow gold lately, Its sooo RICH. YUMMY!

I think it all depends on the pendant and the length of the chains. Your two look fantastic together and I would wear them together in a heartbeat. I wish I could stack more of mine bc I have so many pretty necklaces that never get worn anymore now that I have a diamond bezel pendant. It's the only piece of jewelry that I never take off (other than cleaning it).

I am excited to see other people's necklace "stacks" :D

Edited, D&T, are your chains/pendants yellow gold or is it my computer? I am looking closer now and I'm not sure. They are beautiful regardless though!

I might consider it, but the problem is both of my nice pendant chains are 16". Therefore, the pendants would fall at exactly the same place.

lbbaber - thank you! they are both yellow gold, hmmm. I"m going to have to look in my jewelry box now to see if there are other "stackable" necklaces- it never occurred to me to stack before this
Tanzigrrl - the box pendant necklace is a 16" and bezel pendant 15" I usually buy stock pieces at 16" but usually prefer the 15" length so I have to get them shorten or add a jump ring? which is sometimes a pain in the rear as you just want to buy and go instead of wait for it

I'd love to see other necklace stacks too, what other combo works well?

Indeed I do! I designed my pear pendants with stacking in mind: my diamond hangs on a 20" chain, and weighs 1.30, and my ruby hangs on a 15" chain, and weighs 1.11 (but faces up somewhat smaller, since, as a colored stone, it has both a different density and a different depth). I'm tempted to get another one to lie right at the hollow of my throat, but I'm stumped as to which stone to use: it'd have to be much smaller to look proportionate, so ... maybe a FCD? :naughty:

Circe- Gorgeous stack! I remember both your necklaces well but I must have blanked out on the stacking part  yes an FCD would be fantastic :naughty:

Thanks, D&T - and, as I should have said in the first place, I LOVE how yours look together. The lengths of chain coupled with the proportions of the pendants play off one another perfectly!

Circe - that pear is "only" a 1.3 carat? Wow, it looks gigantic. By appearance alone, I'd say 2+ carats. Do you know the L/W measurements by chance?

I love pears - I'm hoping my 10 year anniversary upgrade will be a pear. :naughty:

Heheh - why, thank you! I attribute at least part of it to the joys of foreshortening - given chain length, the diamond's probably considerably closer to the camera than the ruby. It's 9.13 x 5.94 if I remember correctly, but the bezel makes it look bigger. Ah, how I love bezels ....

I think they look cool together. I know Giada (DeLaurentis) stacks a bunch of DBY pendants together ...BTW -- I've always heard it referred to as "layering" when it comes to necklaces but stacking makes just as much sense.

For myself, I haven't stacked visibly. Sometimes I leave my tighter fitting rose gold starfish pendant on under my collar when I'm wearing a heavier costume kind of statement necklace on top of a shirt. Currently I don't have two pendants that would work together that way. But in my imaginary world one day I wear a DBY necklace that can be layered with my also imaginary bezel Lucida pendant.

I love the look, but when I do that the chains get all tangled up. I can't make it work.

Deco--- Layering!! makes more sense  haha.. thanks for the correct terminology, I just went with stacking for whatever reason...lol guessing I"m just used to ring terms

So far so good, my chains haven't bundle up together yet, although one of my chain is heavier (bottom layer) and the bezel pendant is much lighter, not sure if that has anything to do with them staying put?

Wow, Circe - I love your diamond pear pendant! The design of its bale area is gorgeous and unique. The pendant looks perfect. =)

I can't seem to get away with stacking necklaces. The chains get tangled.

Why yes, I layer. Love layered necklaces! (looking good D&T!) Lately I've been throwing a strand of pearls into the mix. I'll try to take a few pics. I usually wear 4 gold charms on a chain and I like to add a tiny charm on a shorter necklace layered on top.

Heliotrope has some fun layers-check out her thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/medals-fobs-and-charms.152594/

eta: love your necklaces, Circe!

HI:

Yes I do. Always the same length of chain, 16 inch--good length for me. But mix metals, colors, and gems.

cheers--Sharon

I don't, simply because I don't wear necklaces. I don't know why they always get tangled in my hair. But, D&T, your necklaces look great on you. hmmm...maybe I should reconsider. Are you thinking of another one to go with these two? Of course you are!

I have layered my two diamond pendants together a few times, but I don't know if I really love the look on me. My .75 ct bezeled solitaire pendant is on a 15" chain, and my flower cluster pendant is on an 18" chain.

D&T, I like the way your "stack" looks--I think the box pendant adds visual interest, and the two look great together.

Coati... can't wait to see your 'layer' pictures. thanks for the linky - beautiful pieces
Thanks Kittybean :wavey:
Sharon- would love to see some of your collection
Tigian...lol.. yep my wheels are spinning :Up_to_something: I do want to add a little color on the next project getting some good ideas, love the pear shape Ruby a la Circe :)) but I'm really interested to see how other layer their necklaces

Just realized.. I might be in the wrong forum  Jewelry pieces? mods you can move me if you'd like ::)

I love the look of layered necklaces! Adding a layer with color sounds lovely!

You have a graceful long neck (which I lack) so you can pull it off (which I can't). If I were you, I'd go for it!
