Do you skip over anyone's posts here?

I do.
Just one person.

I love diversity and love to hear other perspectives.
I feel secure and self confident and realize my opinions only apply to ME.

But after 5 years I've heard enough from one person so I usually just skip over her/his posts, since PS does not have an ignore function.

How bout you? (No names)

hi!
I don't ignore anyone's posts---i haven't been around long enough to "get to know" people well enough to make that call--- plus i usually just like everyone anyway....
PS 2 has a friends/foes thing: "Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Personal messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators. "
maybe this will help you?

No, but I skip over posts that I don't think I'll be interested in. Not really the same thing though.

Actually, what I like to do when I get to a post of someone mildly irksome is just to drop kick my laptop across the room.

I'm sorry, did you say something?

Just kidding!

Yes, I do. I don't object to views that are different to mine (or I'd be lonely ;)) ) but I do prefer not to read about some mindsets and prejudices. Good luck to them, but not appealing to me or compelling reading. No point reading something just to make myself angry, right?

Not so much here (just started actually contributing after lurking all winter), but on other forums yes. There's this one woman I blocked who always says things like "Yeah, I went there" like it's such a brave thing to do, being rude to a total stranger online.

Basically I take rude/passive aggressive posters with a grain of salt. If they can help me with something or answer my questions with some semblance of thought, or even if I find humor in their snark, I don't feel the need to ignore. If they are just nasty with no substance behind it I hit the ignore button and go along my merry way.

Wishing something does not make it happen :wavey: .

Why ignore the posts, I assume he/she is not going to go away ;)) .

Nah. None that I ignore but I will say...

Whenever I see your name attached to a post, I have to read it. :naughty:

I learned from my customer service days to check my attitude at the door, or in this case, check it before I open the thread ;). If I disagree with a poster in one thread, I can generally open up the next post and have a conversation with them. It doesn't take a lot for me to be offended in the moment but it does take a lot for that feeling to stick around. There's only probably one poster who I have chosen to 'ignore' because of how that person made me feel but I would still "ditto" them if I agree with their advice to someone or wish them well if they need some good vibes.

Well, I'll take that as a compliment - in a National Enquirer kinda way.

Compliment indeed :Up_to_something:

No, there really isn't anyone on PS I feel that way about. Some people I don't normally agree with but I just do my own thing and try to be positive. Plus I like seeing whats on the other side on the coin so even if I don't agree with some people I still like to read their opinions. I guess I might feel different in a few years... ;)) :))

Yes. Its a poster that would constantly create polls about his/her project, only to change his/her mind and then run through the process again. It was exhausting. And not even worth offering ideas to, as those ideas usually got scrapped anyway. I only skipped over those particular threads, I don't skip over that posters posts altogether.

I don't ignore anyone's posts. I enjoy seeing different opinions and ideas. And even if I don't agree with a poster on one thread doesn't mean I won't "ditto" them on another.

Sometimes I do just skim an entire thread instead of reading each post, but that's equal opportunity ignoring.

This pretty much describes my feelings/habits :))

This thread is bringing out all sorts of insecurites and paranoia in me...now I'm wondering if my posts are being ignored.

I personally don't ignore posters by name, but I tend to stop reading once a thread turns ugly, and people start getting personal attacks. Why can't we all get along?

Nope, but I skip controversial posts.

Not really. If a thread seems interesting to me, I will look at it. Who started it or posted on it doesn't really matter to me.

oh gosh! that is likely me! my apologies :)

some people's posts I take with a grain (or several) of salt

No - but when posts turn nasty, or really negative, I stop reading...

new PS function...

No.

I find myself tempted sometimes as I know certain posters have strong opinions on the subject at hand and I already know what those opinions are, but even then I read through because I've been caught completely off guard enough times to know that they just might bring up something new that I hadn't thought of..

ETA: I will skip over posts not written in English. A few spelling/grammar/punctuation oopses is fine - who doesn't do it - but if u SPK LIKE THIS i AM compltly uNaBlE to take u srsly <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Yes, there is one person whose posts I skip over. This is a very supportive community but when someone makes her/ his intolerance and ugly attitude known and wears her/ his ignorance as badge of honor- that sort of person doesn't have anything worth saying in my book.

Not one person in particular. However, I have been known to skip if someone's font is too hard to read (like bright colors) or if the post is just a block of text (or lots of run-on sentences, etc.). Unfortunately I'm a lazy reader on forums so if it's hard for me to read a post for whatever reason, I'll skip it.

Hehe, not you at all! I don't think I've read any of your threads/posts outside of LIW.

I don't mean to make anyone paranoid. I apologize if I did!

haha it's OK :) I changed my mind a fair amount when deciding on my ring and there was a span where I started SEVERAL threads on it...

I should be receiving it soon though and I am really grateful to all of you on PS who helped me decide! I can't wait to see what it looks like!

Not yet... There are posters I'm drawn to but I'm mostly intrigued by subject lines. Knowing myself, if there was anyone I intensely disliked, I'd be even more inclined to look. I like to add fuel to the fire :))

Hi,
Yes I do and I am happy to find out I may officially be able to block them. This stems from political threads at election time. Amazingly, these people consider themselves brilliant and kick everyone else around. They were revolting. No excuse whatever for the behavior. It shows how little they think of their fellow citizens. This is what character is about.

There is one other person that I was convinced was a bit mentally off. I don't read his/her posts. Could be the same person as the poll creator. Can't say anymore.

Thanks

I don't have to agree with everything that's said. Sometimes I find they might be right although I didn't see it at the time.
