Do you call back 'missed' calls?

Actually a couple of years ago, there was a call left on my machine with a short message to call them back. I did not recognize the number. So I did a reverse listing. Found it was a doctor's office and called them back. They had transposed two digits. The receptionist thanked me for letting her know about the mixup. I always imagined if maybe this person was looking for test results or whatever and was siting and waiting anxiously for that important call.

I occasionally get missed calls and many times they are telemarketers or sales people. But then there is that one call that I am glad I investigated more thoroughly.

I call most of them back. I am always selling things on the Internet and elsewhere, plus I am job hunting. I like to find out at least why they called.

It depends upon who is calling me. One person I know usually talks for about 15 min and is good about wrapping up a conversation and she calls me and I do return her calls.

I prefer to text people, though, so if someone calls, I might just reply with a text because sometimes the reason they didn't leave a message was because their child called and none of the kids leave messages. I will text them to see if it was the kid or parent.

I don't hate talking on the phone, though I HATE being trapped in a phone conversation. The worst ones are where I called to ask a question and then get stuck talking for an hour. Any time I talk to one of my relatives, she HAS TO turn it into a 2 hour phone call. If I try to get off the phone, she will ignore me or say she knows I need to go, but then talks MORE, so we haven't talked in a long time. Now, I will text or email her only.

I voted "never", but after I hit the button, I changed my mind. Probably more like rarely. Only people I want to talk to. Most of the people I would be interested in talking to have my cell and would send me a text. I would also add, only if I feel I have to. I am not a phone person and hate to talk on it.
