Damn! I hope so! How cool.

It's likely that the vendor stuck or photoshopped the picture onto the cert.

I am not sure about this particular GIA Cert, but I recently viewed a GIA fancy color diamond cert with an image of the diamond attached to the cert and was told by the owner that for a fee, GIA does take the image. So I will check into this further on Monday.

Hey all,
Happy new year.
This is a new service GIA offers, for an additional cost, they will add a picture of the stone to the certificate.
We don't "change" certificates and definitely don't modify them.

denverappraiser, as a trade member, the sentence you say have heavier significance than regular PS readers therefore you should be twice carful before saying something which isn't accurate.
by stating the seller(our company) added this to the certificate is accusing our company in being dishonest, and that is inappropriate.
Just because you haven't seen this kind of certificate before (since it's rather new) , doesn't mean it doesn't exist, you should check your facts before stating such things and accusing other vendors at "adding" things to the certificate .

I don't know how it is with white diamonds certificates, but for fact, this is a service GIA provides for FCD for additional cost.

Itzik,

I stand corrected and I apoligize if you felt I was disparaging you. By the way, including a picture on top of a GIA report I would NOT count as dishonest even if it were the case any more than adding a sarin sticker is dishonest. That would only be dishonest if it were a misrepresentation of what GIA said about the stone, which is clearly about the case.

Thank you Neil, your clarification on the matter is highly appreciated.
I'm sure you didn't mean to accuse of such things, i was afraid other people could have misunderstood what you wrote, that why it was important for me to reply.
All is OK now
Thank you also Davi El Mejor for the picture of the pricing.

What a great feature to add to a certificate.

Thread Jack: Itzik - what stone is on your avatar? It is gorgeous.

Hi,
it's a 3ct+(prefer not say the excat weight) of a Fancy Vivid Blue Pear shape we sold about 2 years back.

Thanks Itzik, I am sure whoever owns that diamond is very happy with it. It is truly a gorgeous stone.

GIA has included a digital image on their colored gemstone reports for some time now. (sample). Great to see them offering this service for colored diamonds.
