I get chills when I listen to Real songs. Chris LeDoux (country) sang a song called "Under This Old Hat". He sings about everything that makes his Cowboy hat meaningful. And, since I live in the country and I know how men are about there hats, it gets me. Also, "Midnight in Montgomery" by Alan Jackson which is a biographical song about Hank Williams, Sr.

Wow, lots of country fans! "Not Ready to Make Nice" always gets me too. So does "Oh Mother" by Christina Aguilera. It''s funny though, it never did anything for me until I saw her cry when singing it, and now it gets me every time. I also like Mandy Moore''s "Gardenia"; it has a really beautiful arrangement.

"Not Ready to Make Nice" gets me. But the song that really gave me chills is actually off of the new Linkin Park CD. It''s called "The Little Things Give You Away" about the country''s response to Hurricane Katrina. I almost started crying when I first listened to it, and it gives me chills every time I hear it.

There''s a Christmas song done by Trans-Siberian Orchestra called "Old City Bar" which ALWAYS makes me cry and get a chill up my spine by the end of it. I simply adore that song.
For a different kind of chill--the creepy kind (and strangely this is the sort of chill that first came to mind when I read this thread''s title)--there is a song done by Tori Amos called " ''97 Bonnie & Clyde" which is possibly THE creepiest song I''ve ever heard. The narrative voice is a father, talking to his very young daughter about how he just killed her mother. It is so incredibly eerie that it gives me serious chills when I listen to it, like the sort you get when watching a really good scary movie. Lyrics are here, but part of what makes it so freaky is the tone of her voice when she performs it. Still...yikes, very creepy.
I think you were probably going for the first type of chills, so feel free to ignore the second bit.

Ooh ooh, speaking of patriotic songs, there''s always Proud to be an American by, uh, Lee Greenwald, I think. Yep, I sing it at the top of my lungs when I hear it on the radio every Fourth of July.

ANYTHING from Jeff Buckley''s albums, especially "Grace". I didn''t realize how many Buckley fans we have here - I love you all even more!
The entire debut album from Duncan Sheik is FABULOUS, but the songs that come to mind in particular are She Runs Away, Days Go By, Serena, and The End of Outside. The string orchestration and the vocals that just soar... WOW. His other albums are just as good. Other favorite "chills" songs are Far Away, Alibi, and House Full of Riches.
Also coming to mind is I Don''t Understand Anything by Everything but the Girl and By Your Side by Sade.
I know there are others, too... can''t think of all of them right now. This thread is giving me ideas for iTunes purchases.
