Dispatch from Ban Island

Conclusion: Success
This method has helped me heal from the emotional trauma of being docked at Ban Island. I produced a real genuine smile and felt a jolt of joy again.
Bling fund still intact, goal achieved.
Strongly recommend, repeat as needed

I think this is a good choice!
This seller seems to be better than the others. Once you have looked at lots of turquoise, it is easier to spot the fakes, right?
(Beware of that stuff called African turquoise, it's really jasper)
These beads are pretty and I'm looking forward to seeing your finally finished necklace!

As someone who probably owns a good amount of fake turquoise, I have a question: How are these vendors allowed to lie about their products on the internet? Does that not equate to fraud, or at a minimum, false adverising?

thank you
and also thank you for the tip on African turquise, i had seem some and assumed it was reffering to where it was mined
but now it turns out it is more similar to Italian larima aka dyed Pectolite
i would love togo to one of those gem shops where you see all the stands of beads and lovely specimans, but i would need you with me to show me the fakes ...must win lotto

So it's still too cold to swim in the pool, but it's beautiful to look at for now.

Except I unbanned myself and bought this from Ivy & Rose because I think it will distract from my swimsuit shape, lol. It should be here Friday!

Back to the ban, and I mean it this time!

https://ivyandrose.com/products/tif...prinkle-necklace-18k-yellow-gold-32in-peretti

that will look lovely with togs (what we call swimming costumes in NZ)
even better with a nice sundress for tropical cocktails

add me to the i want to know too peeps
what consumer laws are we protected by ?
etsy and amason are American so American comsumer laws ? which i know nothing about but it used to be in NZ you could not call it ice cream unless it actually had dairy in it, or it had to be called frozen dessert
and there seems to be way too much frozen dessert on etsy masquerading as ice cream

I don't know, but most of these sellers are either lying, or they have no idea about what they are selling.
In fact, this seller is also claiming "no treatment" on any of their turquoise.
In order to cut facets on turquoise beads, it had to be stabilized or treated in some way because it is a soft stone. Which is perfectly fine, as long as you are honest with your customers.
Claiming "no treatment" is dishonest.

The price is usually a good indicator of quality.
If it seems too good to be true.....
And as I am looking at some products sold by the bead vendors on Etsy, so many are misrepresenting or downright lying about their wares.
You just have to read as much as you can and educate yourself so you don't get burned on a bad purchase.
And believe me, I've been burned many times over the years!

i am getting better at recognizing quartz
i do read the reviews but sometimes other customers dont know they are being scammed
i would never have known about the Italian larimar being fake larima except it left dye inside my cap when i was looking at them
my jeweller spotted the fake fascetted larima that was quartz

who knows what the melachite will turn out to be when it eventually gets here, i dont have my hopes up as it went missing then its replacement went to France

Georgian Dinner Ring
Bonnet setting, silver on gold
Peruzzi cuts - 4+ ctw

She’s my dream dinner ring. I almost bought this instead of Flora last year. She once had a ruby in the center that was removed … so I’m rescuing the setting. I will be looking for a center and I’m thinking sapphire… my hubby photoshopped one in the photo.

My first jewelry purchase for myself paid for all on my own :kiss2:

Thank you!!! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am. I just wired, and I couldn’t hold it in another minute, lol.

The previous stone was a cushion cut 11.05 x 7.36 - so something a touch bigger so it can be cut to fit, probably 3-5ct’s.

I’ll start a thread once she gets here, but didn’t want to break tradition - so you guys are the first to know

Haha you may want to start a thread in the CS forum and make new friends there too lol.

I have like 30 other ones if you want to see

Did he go for several variations of each colour of the rainbow so that you can choose?

This is my kind of level of obsession, only my skills are very rudimentary. But I do that, too. Last time I worked on a ring design, I made a folder that, between source images, WIP files and final renderings, eventually reached nearly a 100 separate files.
