Merry Christmas everyone!

I''ve been having such dilema deciding on the shape of stone for my upgrade!! First it was oval, then cushion and now a pear?!?! I was so sure that I wanted a cushion halo until I saw Katherine Heigl''s pear halo!!! It is such a beautiful ring!!! But i''m not sure if I''m a Pear kinda girl......I do love cushions but the only drawback is that it truely is "small" comparing to the other shapes!!! Oh boy......I just can''t make up my mind!!! Help!!!

Maybe check out some ovals in person? They look great alone or haloed and maximise the spread ( face up size) for the weight if well cut.

Lorelei is right. If you are not sure you should go shopping! Window shopping that is. Try on as many styles as you can of the different shapes. Try pears with sidestones, oval with bezels, cushions with halos, pears with cushions and ovals...Oh My!

How the diamond is set can also make a big difference. I have an oval with 4 double prongs, and it really looks like an elongated cushion. This way I get a cushion shape and the spread of an oval. I also had a pear for a while and loved it too, it''s a tough decision, but go try on lots of different things until one stands out.

Cushions look smaller but they are also cheaper. For the same price, you can probably get a higher carat weight cushion to face up similar in size.

I agree with pp''s - go try some on and see what really makes your heart sing. I think you''ll know it when put it on. Katherine''s pear is gorgeous especially the way it''s set. of those 3 shapes, I prefer a beautiful wide cushion

I have started to love ovals especially set east/west but I''ve never seen one is person. That''s where you''ve got to start. Let your eyes tell you which one is for you.

I just wanted to add that when you do go shopping, don''t forget to try on different rings. IMO, window shopping is very helpful, but when it comes to deciding on the shape and size of the diamond that''s just perfect for your hand, you gotta try it on! Have fun!!!

yes try different rings, you have to see the rings in person before you buy
