Hi Isaac,

Congratulations on your upcoming engagement!

We cant really "grade" a princess stone for you. Wouldnt happen to have an ASET image of the stone would you?
Here is a link to a stone that has an IDEAL cut. It is an ACA princess. Price is $2930. A gold setting would run
you anywhere from $300 (simple) to around $800. Platinum would run $650 (simple) on up.

Here is the stone...

If you loved it - loved it enough to purchase without checking all the 'statistics' beforehand, why inquire now and possibly hear something you'd rather not? Just enjoy it!

In any case, I'm guessing you won't get anything but "ooh lovely"s from a post like this that asks for opinions after the fact ;))

thanks guys i have no problem getting a choice grilled. but the guy showed it to me... and my jaw dropped.... there is just something about it... but i still want to know if its a good deal.... just for future diamond shopping

and about the asset image... i have the gemex cert but i dont think that is what you are referring to.

aset: http://www.ideal-scope.com/1.using_ASET_scope.asp

bscope (gemex) rewards stones w/ myriad of small virtual facets that go crazy reflecting under direct lighting environments, cut patterning that results in fewer but larger bolder outputs is comparatively penalized

I think you will usually pay more at a B&M store but some people like physically examining the diamond before they buy it. I would take it into different lighting and make sure you can't see any inclusions if this is important to you (some but not all SI2s are eye-clean so it is good to check it out). If you love it great but if not and you're still in the return policy then you can do some online comparison shopping to look at other options.

Another option would be to take your stone to a Jared and compare it to their AGS0 princess cuts and see which you like better.
