Hello -
After spending enormous amounts of time researching the diamonds I think I have finally found "the one". I have placed the order, and can't wait to get it tomorrow! I thought I should share it with the fellow members here since many of them were a great help to me while guiding me through the process. I really appreciate your help!
1.23 carat Round Brilliant
6.89 x 6.93 x 4.28
Cut: GIA Ex/Ex/Ex
Color: F
Clarity: SI1
Table: 54%
Pavilion: 61.9%
Crown angle: 34.5 degrees
Pavilion angle: 40.8 degrees
Crown height %: 15.5%
Pavilion height %: 43%
Girdle: Medium
Fluorescence: Strong Blue
AGA score: 1A
HCA score: 1.4
Since I was buying the e-ring online, I was bit skeptical of going with the SI1 clarity since many experts here on the forum had cautioned against it. I contacted the seller (Blue Nile), and requested a visual confirmation. Blue Nile came back saying the stone is "eye clean" with no inclusions visible to the eye when viewed from *any* angle and distance. Since I wanted a second opinion, I requested Blue Nile to re-verify any negative impact of the strong blue fluorescence given the colorless grade of the stone. The second gemologist at Blue Nile got back to me, and reaffirmed as the diamond being "eye clean", and no presence of any haziness or cloudiness in the stone given the high fluorescence.
I have opted for a six prong knife-edged Tiffany-like setting in the platinum. I'm hoping she will like it!
