But if you are looking at getting the most bang for you buck, skip the famous names like Tiffany, Cartier, etc. Their mark up is sooooo crazy. Lets say a diamond is worth $800. A regular jeweler would mark that up at least 100 percent or even more so your price would be 1,600. OK that's typical. But that same diamond at Tiffany would probably cost double that closer to 3,000.
That is why White Flash could offer you such a "great deal" Basically any non name brand can do that. And no it really dose not hold its value if some day you need to sell it...OK maybe a little, but not much. That 3,000 ring would only fetch you 800 bucks if you are lucky.
Don't want to take away from what Craighnt is saying at all. I bought a few bezeled BGD bands for under the price of a single tiffany bezeled band. They are absolutely beautiful.
But
Sometimes it's the entire tangible experience that adds to your love of something and that's okay too. Some of my favorite everyday rings came from overpriced retail stores and I cherish them because they are beautiful but even more than that my Dh and I had the experience of getting them together, trying on, laughing etc... I am all for ordering online but it is also very okay to get something you loved because you felt it, tried it on, looked at each other and said love!
