Hello!

I need help finding a diamond for my current project. I had considered getting a MRB ring last year to commemorate our 10th year wedding anniversary but ended up going in a different direction instead - which I now regret. Fortunately, DH has given his blessings to cater to my superficial whims for more sparkles in my life. :appl:

I am looking for an ideal H&A (hard to go back after owning some pieces by BGD) G-H VS at least 10mm for ~80k. I've seen a couple of options online, but as this would be an internet purchase, I thought I'd ask for alternatives or affirmation.

I’ve done searches at BGD, and HPD, with no results.
My search parameters:

3ct-5ct
Round
D-H
VS1+
Slight-None

You may have to reach out to these vendors & ask them to source a diamond for you.
I will continue looking at other vendors, but you mentioned BGD, which is why I started there.

At this size, I'd lean to a super ideal (or super old cut), but the above have good angles. If you like them, put on hold and then ask for an IS image.
 
If you are open to custom at HPD you can contact them... I was considering but dropped the idea but basically you pay a deposit and tell them the specs you want and they start sourcing for the rough. If the specs turn out worse than what you requested price is reduced and if better (which Layla said usually but not always happens), I think you pay the original price.

Regardless of where you eventually get the stone from, can’t wait to see the stunner so am going to stalk this thread! :mrgreen2:

So this is actually the one I've been looking at and currently have on hold. My concern is the SBF (to which they said is a non-issue), and the lack of upgrade option (not to say that I will, but it would be nice to have). Does anyone have any thoughts on this vs the ACA 4.086? There is a definite price discrepancy. Not sure it's worth the .2mm in size? What do you guys think?

I have a similar but smaller non super ideal stone - she's a 3.24 G VS2 with SBF that I love and was a very attractive price for the size and specs I got. This GOG stone could be a great option at a fabulous price. I think it's worth really thinking about whether you would upgrade. If so, WF would be the easier option although @mrs-b initially felt some pain when she wasn't finding a larger stone in the budget/specs she wanted (bc obviously inventory of larger in-house stones is not plentiful) but WF is able to custom cut and she went that route and got an amazing end result. The ACA is stunning - I'm pretty sure this was one of thes stone I saw during the GTG at WF in May. You can't go wrong with an ACA :love: but that's not to say that GOG won't also be absolutely beautiful and a $$ saver if this is a size you think you'd stay at!

Thank you for your thoughts - I really appreciate them. I'll have to weigh this carefully as I make my decision. It's exciting but stressfully simultaneously... I don't think I'll upgrade in the future, but as I've learned on this forum - "never say never." I just hope that getting this ring will finally scratch that itch!
