Diamond reserved...one last question

I'd prefer the color and shape of the I, but ultimately it is up to you if you are color sensitive or not and what shape you prefer. I have had 2 AVC, one rectangular and one more square, and I prefer the square shape myself. Both are beautiful, but I think the IS and ASET are nicer on the I.

I think they are both winners. Without seeing them in person, I can't say how much of a color diff there is. I do own J AVC twins (studs) and in mine, the color just looks nice and soft vs looking toned.

For my ering, I have a more rectangular cushion that is set North/South, which I really like cause it lengthens my fingers, which are thinnish, but knobby and short. If your intended has similar fingers, that could be an option.

Here is a picture of my rectangular non-AVC on my type finger (Stats for ref: 1.01 E on size 5):

Now, having said all of that, if I were just looking at the two aesthetically, I prefer then slightly whiter and slightly squarer first one. The shape is just beautiful. Hope that helps you in relative merits!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

That is an interesting idea with a more rectangular diamond and I really like your ring Miss Debby. Its beautiful.

I am torn right now. I do like the shape of the I and would love for the stone to be a bright as possible. But, the J's shape is distinctly different, and may allow for more money on the setting.

Miss Debby, can I ask what kind of setting you have. I am interested in the Tacori 26020, but its probably out of my price range. I like the classic style with pave.

If it helps, I believe MissyDebby has a Leon (custom made - artofplatinum.com). The 2620 is beautiful. Personally, I prefer longer stones but I'm sure both are beautiful. The light performance of the I color is probably a bit better, but in the end, I'd consider what type of setting and the cost of the setting I want, and go from there. Some settings lend themselves better to longer stones but it's easier to find a setting for a squarer/round stone though.

Have you priced out the 2620?

Thanks for the help. I think I remember reading about her setting now.

I agree that the longer stones are attractive. I don't think I have a strong feeling on the shape of one diamond over the other, especially without knowing the setting. I asked GOG to provide some settings similar to the 2620 (which was approx. $2,600). Maybe once I have narrowed down those choices I will have a better idea of the combination of stone/setting I prefer.

If I went with the J, I probably could swing the 2620 as it would be approx $600 over my $6,000 budget. But, I think I might want to spend that extra money on the diamond, rather than the setting.

AHH! This is fun, but confusing!
