Went and looked at the Tacori setting today, and it is what I am looking for. Now before I order the setting to be made I need to decide on White Gold or Platinum. The price difference is about $1k on the setting and then $1k on the wedding band, so about $2k more total for the platinum.
Budget wise I can make it work, but my question is, is it worth it? Does WG wear and get beat up that much more then platinum? I''ve also heard Tacori WG is better then most. Any insight would be great.
Anyone? I have read this forum for hours on the differences on WG vs Platinum. I know some settings are better for both metals. I''m just hoping to get a little input on which metal would be best for this setting: http://www.tacori.com/Engagement-Rings/2593RD55
I emailed Tacori but havent heard back yet. To my knowledge though, the alloy mix in WG for Tacori has Palladium, which will help keep it white longer. So if anyone that has a WG Tacori ring that has a quick review on how the metal is holding up, it would be greatly appreciated.
Well I recieved my BGD stone yesterday and I was very impressed with the packaging. Along came soft white gloves, and eye viewer to see the diamond closer (sorry dont know the technical term), and a hard book holding the diamond information. I am not an expert but the diamond looks great. Very clear, no inclusions that I can see, the color is supposed to be a G but it looks colorless to me and it has a lot of fire to it. So I wanted to thank everyone for recommending BGD!
So tomorrow is the day that I will meet with the jewelry store that carries Tacori. After a long email back from a Tacori expert I think I am going to spend the extra $1k on the ering and go platinum. if I dont it will probably be something that I always wish that I did. Anyway, now the setting will be more then the diamond, which is the most important to Kim so i guess thats fine.
I will follow up with any details on the ring or when I actually get it back.
Thanks again.
