My wonderful husband surprised me with a gorgeous diamond eternity (not this ring) for my birthday, but there was a hiccup with sizing, so we decided to exchange it for something easier to size over the years. we chose this one, and while to my brain, .05 pointers sounded like they would be quite dainty (which i love - my wedding band and engagement ring have .02 pointers), i was looking for something with enough presence to wear on it's own on my right hand, where for the last 4.5 years, i've been wearing my wedding band. lo and behold, after trying several on, .05 pointers won out!
i tried this one on and it was perfect. in my opinion, (comparison shots below) it's enough of a difference from my wedding set and is well suited to a stand alone band. there were certainly larger/blingier ones, i wanted to be able to wear it day to day and i'm relatively young so this fit my comfort level for work and social circle while still being very sparkly and luxe looking. it's also set very low, and the profile of the shared prong setting is lovely. the icing on the cake for me, were the pinched prongs, so that it has a scalloped shape. i find that more feminine and organic than settings which square off the diamond visually due to prongs at the outside of the profile.

thirteen .05 pointers (sized at 6.25 with sizing beads to allow for swelling and summer weather)
